WARNIE ON PLASTIC SURGERY
SPIN king Shane Warne has shot a commercial poking fun at reports he has had plastic surgery.
“There has been a lot of talk about me having plastic surgery which is incorrect and factually untrue. There may be a commercial about that,” he said on the red carpet.
The commercials are part of a series Warne has shot for Sportingbet.
Another, showing his fear of spiders, is already airing.
“It was bird-eating spider. They had to keep it in the fridge to calm it down. I’m being serious,” he said.
Warne was coy about another commercial he has shot for the betting giant, saying: “It’s about eating ... let’s just say it deals with a trip to India.”
Warne said it was his first Logies. “I’m a virgin,” he laughed. “I’m looking forward to whatever it has to offer.”
He is also looking forward to a Full Moon Party, organised by Hot Breakfast broadcaster Mick Molloy, at Warne’s Club 23, soon.
“Mick and (Hot Breakfast host) Eddie McGuire can be very persuasive.”
BERT A NO-SHOW
LOGIES favourite Bert Newton didn’t attend the awards last night because he was having a small eye operation.
Instead Newton’s wife Patti and daughter Lauren were on the red carpet.
There were a few show business favourites on the red carpet, including Rhonda Burchmore who was at her leggy best in a dazzling green mermaid gown.
JESINTA IN CLEAR ON BUDDY CRASH
JESINTA Campbell said there had been no fallout from boyfriend Buddy Franklin’s accident in her Jeep.
The $10 million Swans recruit was forced to apologise last week, but insisted he wasn’t texting or speeding before crashing into four parked cars in the Harbour City on Wednesday night.
“It was an accident and these things happen,” Campbell said.
Despite reports to the contrary, the model and TV presenter said her ambassador deal with Jeep Australia was not on the line.
“My management called Jeep straight away and they were really understanding,” she said.
“We just move on.”
Campbell has just returned from Thailand where she was filming for Getaway.
She was at the MCG Saturday night supporting Franklin and the Sydney Swans before he injured his knee.
“He’s disappointed he’s injured. but he’s a big boy and he’ll come back bigger and stronger than ever,” she said.
The former Hawks spearhead was not by his girlfriend’s side on the red carpet, but Instagrammed a picture of the former Miss Universe Australia saying she was “looking absolutely beautiful”.
THE BEC AND JESS COUTURE SHOW
REBECCA Judd and Jessica Marais were red-carpet standouts, both wearing J’Aton gowns last night.
Judd wore a lilac see-through dress to her fifth Logies, before presenting the Channel 9 weather.
“It’s couture for the weather,” she said. “It’s hard coming up with new colours and there’s a bit of lilac, purple and pleats which I haven’t done. I love it. I just leave it up to them now.”
Judd said it was a little easier managing two kids now husband Carlton star Chris Judd was home more after recently injuring his hamstring.
“He can do daddy daycare,” she said.
Marais, who will soon begin shooting season two of Love Child, said her dress was a unique collaboration.
“It was all over the internet this year. I was unable to fly into Melbourne so they had to make most of it by email. Lucky they are fashion gods,” she said.
HOUSEWIVES PUT CLAWS AWAY
THE six Real Housewives of Melbourne put aside high-level tension to turn up together.
Chyka Keebaugh, who is known as Switzerland on the show for not taking sides in the battle between Gina Liano and the other four women, said she hoped eventually the rivals could sort out their differences.
The last couple of weeks have seen dirty tactics, including anonymous blogs and allegations from all sides of cyber bullying.
“I’m really sad it has got to the point it has, I honestly am sad about that,” Keebaugh told Confidential.
“I hope one day when everything calms down with social media, everyone has a bit of time apart, bridges can be mended.”
The catering queen said the end of the hit first series was bittersweet.
“It certainly has been a very interesting experience,’’ she said.
“There has been a lot of drama the past couple of weeks, I’ve been away overseas and I’ve come back to it.”
While some of the women have been unhappy at how they have been portrayed on the Foxtel reality series, Keebaugh is satisfied.
“I feel like I’m diplomatic in everything I do,” she said.
“I feel I’m very fair and look at every situation and form my own opinion.
“When things were happening I watched both sides of everything and I put my five cents worth in but it wasn’t always shown … but I think they represented me well.”
Two reunion episodes begin screening next Sunday.
HAMISH’S PERFECT GIFT FOR ANDY
HAMISH Blake said he had the ideal gift for partner-in-crime Andy Lee if he claimed the Gold Logie last night.
“I have got 160 infant nappies at home I can give to him to look after his Gold Logie,” Blake, a former Gold Logie winner, said.
Blake attended with Lee as his wife Zoe is heavily pregnant with the couple’s first child.
“I’m thinking there’s a no Air Max policy on the red carpet and they’re the only shoes she can wear at the moment so she’s out,” Blake said.
Lee said the pair would head back to South America for the Gap Year after the birth.
“We don’t want to jinx it but we probably don’t die this season,” he said.
ASHER’S BRIDAL GLOW
ASHER Keddie was glowing on the red carpet just days after marrying her partner, artist Vincent Fantauzzo.
“It was beautiful, it was so simple and exactly what we wanted it to be,” she said of the intimate ceremony on Fiji’s exclusive Turtle Island.
Keddie said one of the good things about getting married overseas was that it was both a honeymoon and a wedding.
“We kind of did it all at once which was great,” she said.
Keddie has finished filming series five of Offspring and is about to start work on a new show called Party Tricks with Puberty Blues actor Rodger Corser.
