Music stars from the UK and around Europe have hit the red carpet in Manchester today for the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Hosted by Rita Ora, the awards – a counterpart to the US-based MTV Video Music Awards – honour the best music releases from the past year, as well as having a slew of regional categories.
Among those regional nominations are the Best Australian Act category, with Confidence Man, Cyril, Kylie Minogue, Sia, The Kid LAROI and Troye Sivan all up for the award.

Mendes is expected to perform at the awards, as part of a line-up of performers that includes pop legends Pet Shop Boys, Tyla, Benson Boone, RAYE and hip-hop pioneer Busta Rhymes.

Taylor Swift is the night’s most-nominated artist with seven nominations, followed by fellow pop queens Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter, who all got five nominations each.
Six acts are up for arguably the night’s biggest award, Best Artist: Swift, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Raye and Sabrina Carpenter.
The awards themselves will air 6pm Monday, November 11 on Paramount+, plus 8:30pm 10 Peach Comedy / 11.05pm on 10.
