Rita Ora hits red carpet in bizarre outfit
Not one to play it safe in the fashion stakes, the British singer has stepped out in her most bizarre red carpet look to date.
Rita Ora has stepped out in one of her most extreme red carpet looks to date.
The British singer, 33, attended The Fashion Awards in London with her husband, New Zealand director Taika Waititi, where she showed off a prosthetic chrome spine.
In a look that will immediately trigger sufferers of Trypophobia (fear of clusters of holes/bumps), Ora’s Godzilla-like accessory featured an agglomerate of spikes that appeared to be growing from beneath the skin of her back.
Taking to Instagram with photos of her look, which included a budget-friendly Primark dress, Ora thanked her team of stylists who “made this possible”.
Ora’s fans flooded the comments section of the post, praising the pop star for spawning “a new trend.”
“A fashion icon!” one wrote. “I AM OBSESSED,” another said.
“This is such a cool look omg,” a third wrote.
A fourth chimed in, “I’m scared but also in love.”
Elsewhere, Pamela Anderson continued her run of avoiding make-up on the red carpet, posing for photographers fresh faced in a white suit.
A host of high-profile stars were in attendance at The Fashion Awards, which were held at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Lily James and Anne Hathaway.
Held annually, the star-studded event is a key fundraiser for the British Fashion Council (BFC) Foundation, which supports emerging designers.
British TV host Maya Jama hosted the celebration, where singer Sam Smith was honoured with the Cultural Innovator Award.
Smith hit the red carpet in an edgy black outfit, fit with a padded-shoulder blazer, black skirt, stockings and sky-high boots.
BFC CEO Caroline Rush said the Unholy singer was a “true cultural innovator”.
“[Smith has] fearlessly pushed the boundaries of both fashion and entertainment and inspired countless individuals across the world to embrace their true selves,” Rush said.
“Smith’s unapologetic and groundbreaking style choices have dominated the industry in 2023 and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support of U.K. designers.”
