MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021: Best looks from the red carpet
The MTV Movie & TV Awards went down in Hollywood today, and racy outfits dominated the red carpet.
Hollywood rolled out the red carpet for the MTV Movie & TV Awards today.
The 29th edition of the awards show saw Emmy-nominated comedian Leslie Jones host the ceremony live from Los Angeles’ Palladium.
It kicked off on Foxtel’s MTV at 11am AEST, with Scarlett Johansson honoured with the Generation Award.
Sacha Baron Cohen also received the Comedic Genius Award.
Check out all the madness of the raciest red carpet we’ve seen all year:
TikTok star and close pal of Kourtney Kardashian, Addison Rae, rolled up in one of the most daring looks of the event, almost completely topless with just a strip of fabric covering her chest.
The 90s waist chain adds a fun throwback twist.
Rachel Lindsay of US The Bachelor fame slipped into white silk and had us feeling second hand comfort.
Hats off to dancer and comedian Dan Rue who looked slick in blue and black.
Serving another bold look, from the hair to this optical illusion-esque skirt, Outer Banks actress Madison Bailey looked like a work of art.
Here’s another look at the skirt:
Sierra Capri from Netflix series On My Block rocked an unusual look, wearing a suit that someone came at with the scissors.
Outer Banks actor Jonathan Daviss looks effortlessly cool in a loose silk shirt and leather pants. Hard pass on the shoes though.
Antonia Gentry from Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia looked fresh and fun in a crisp white, ultra-mini Valentino look.
Chase Stokes did his best to blend in to the carpet in a vibrant red suit, sheer shirt and fresh-out-of-the-box sneakers.
Ultra-mini skirts dominated the event, with Madelyn Cline adding to the sea of red.
I’m a sucker for anything with pockets, but this teal jumpsuit and matching boots number from Jurnee Smollett was a little Lost in Space.
Wrestling belt, backwards cap, sunnies and a blazer from Sussans. There’s a lot to unpack here.
Elizabeth Olsen looked chic and sophisticated in a classic LBD.
Sofia Pernas and Justin Hartley looked like they were off to separate events, with Perna opting for high glamour while Hartley was laid-back in loafers.
Kathryn Hahn was absolutely stunning in all black, tousled hair and a red lip.
These flares are incredible.
Host Leslie Jones dazzled in an orange gown with a dramatic thigh split.
Yvonne Orji stole the show in this colourful fringed number.
It wouldn’t be a red carpet without sequins.
Lana Condor was a vision in this high-neck glittery gown.
Hunky Aussie actor Jacob Elordi opted for the popular look of a loosely-buttoned shirt and designer loafers. He definitely did it best.
Mandy Moore looked positively delightful in lemon yellow.
Anthony Mackie was the king of casual-cool in navy and statement sneakers.
Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding brought retro glam and made it work.
Not one but TWO sequin-beaded boleros on the carpet. Is it 2002?
Taylour Paige paired hers with a completely-sheer jumpsuit reminiscent of Rose McGowan’s iconic 1998 VMAs naked dress.
Meanwhile, Riley Keough went for head-to-toe sequins in clashing colours. Certainly unusual, but I don’t hate it.
Yara Shahidi looked fab in this quirky power suit/tracksuit hybrid.
We wish we could say the same for Victoria Pedretti’s confusing ensemble of a T-shirt and enormous trousers.
Jenny Han looked cute as a button.
