Margot Robbie’s glam red carpet look at 2024 Critics Choice Awards
The actress is continuing her Barbie-core theme, making a showstopping appearance at the Critics Choice Awards on Monday.
Margot Robbie’s run of Barbie-inspired looks hasn’t ended yet.
The actress, 33, hit the red carpet for the Critics Choice Awards on Monday, decked out in a glamorous red Balmain gown, featuring rosettes and a full skirt, which appeared to have taken some inspiration from the 1996 Radiant Rose edition of the iconic doll.
Robbie was nominated for Best Actress at the awards, continuing the phenomenal success of her box office hit, Barbie.
The Critics Choice Awards is in its 29th year and celebrates outstanding achievements in TV and cinema.
This year’s event, hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler, saw Barbie set a new record with 18 nominations, making it the most-recognised single film ever.
It’s premiere partner, Oppenheimer, went in with 13 nods.
English actress Emily Blunt, who starred alongside Cillian Murphy in the biographical thriller about the creation of the atomic bomb, joined Robbie in bringing the glamour to Monday’s ceremony with a similarly bright-red, rosette-adorned dress.
The Marvels’ Brie Larsen went for a more classic, simple black outfit, but added flair with sheer overlay.
Singer and star of The Color Purple Fantasia Barrino made a showstopping entrance with an elaborate white feathered gown, complete with train.
Morning Wars co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, both dressed in black, each were nominated in the Drama Series category.
Meanwhile, Best Actress nominee Lily Gladstone, recognised for her work in Killers of the Flower Moon, was radiant in an off-the-shoulder royal blue gown.
Poor Things’ Emma Stone and Sarah Snook, who won Best Actress in a Drama Series for Succession, also leaned in to the black trend populating the red carpet this year – although the Aussie star opted for a pantsuit.
The Critics Choice awards follows last week’s glitzy Golden Globes ceremony, which saw Oppenheimer and Succession dominate in the film and TV categories.
Barbie entered the arena with nine nominations, collecting two statues, although Margot Robbie lost in the Best Actress category to Emma Stone.
The season will continue on Tuesday with the postponed Emmy Awards, which had to be pushed back from late last year as a result of the Hollywood strikes.
