Lily Allen walks red carpet at 2021 Fashion Awards

Lily Allen walked the red carpet today, months after she hit back at fans who expressed concerns about her weight then quit social media.

British singer Lily Allen was among the celebs to hit the red carpet at the 2021 Fashion Awards in London.

The Smile hit maker, 36, walked the red carpet in a glam silver jumpsuit, with daring cut-outs that exposed her frame.

The public appearance comes months after Allen, who married Stranger Things actor David Harbour last year, hit back at fans expressing concerns over her weight on social media.

Posting a video of a chat show appearance to her Instagram account in July, Allen was hit with a deluge of comments from fans concerned she was looking too thin.

“Worried about you Lily. I feel like we’ve grown up together and I’ve never see you this thin,” wrote one fan.

But Allen hit back, insisting she was healthier than ever.

“You’ve never seen me two years completely sober, not smoking and exercising every day,” the mum-of-two wrote.

Allen has in the past revealed she suffered with bulimia at various points throughout her career, saying: “I would love to be the skinniest, minniest person in the world but I can’t do that without being unhappy. I like food.”

And in a 2018 interview with Cosmopolitan, she revealed she “started not eating” before “having to do photo shoots and red carpets” ahead of her second album release.

Allen later deleted the post clapping back at her fans – and has since deactivated her entire Instagram account. She quit the social media platform two months ago after copping a backlash for naming and shaming a local pizza restaurant when she was unhappy with the meal they’d delivered her.

Allen wasn’t the only celeb to turn heads at today’s Fashion Awards – actress Demi Moore is also making headlines for her striking new look, while model Winnie Harlow, singer Dua Lipa and Jude Law’s daughter Iris were among the other attendees.
