Kim Kardashian’s extremely cinched waist at Met Gala causes widespread confusion

“How is this even possible?” Kim Kardashian has yet again stolen the spotlight at the Met Gala thanks to a baffling detail in her gown.

Kim Kardashian has resurrected the controversial cinched-waist trend at this year’s Met Gala.

The US reality star turned billionaire entrepreneur has triggered confusion among fans for her extreme look on the red carpet at fashion’s night of nights in New York, with one questioning, “How is this even possible?”

Kardashian, 43, who has long been dubbed ‘the Queen of the Met’, sported a silver gown from French fashion house Maison Margiela which featured a sheer skirt with floral embellishments and strapless corset. She teamed the dress with a tailored grey cardigan.

What’s most jaw-dropping is the star’s unrealistically small waist, which appears particularly tiny against her signature curves.

A wave of reaction to Kardashian’s look as lit up social media, with dozens of people questioning how the star was managing to breathe.

“How does she breathe in this?” one user asked.

“WHERE IS HER WAIST?” another questioned.

“She looks very uncomfortable,” a third chimed in.

“How many ribs did she remove JESUS,” a fourth wrote.

The reality star is renowned for her Met looks.

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has raised eyebrows for her drastic approach to fashion at the Met.

At 2022’s gala – when Kardashian famously flaunted a vintage Jean Louis gown worn by Marilyn Monroe – the Skims founder caused outrage after revealing during an interview the extreme lengths she went to in order to fit into the dress.

“I tried it on, and it didn’t fit me. And so I looked at it, and I said, ‘Give me three weeks,’” Kardashian told Vogue.

“I had to lose 16 pounds (7kg) to be able to fit this, but it was such a challenge. I was determined to fit it.”

Her admission sparked widespread concern and criticism on social media, with many calling it “appalling”, “disgusting”, “irresponsible” and “unhinged”, and flagging her “insistence that such drastic weight loss is an attainable goal”.
