Christian Wilkins’ style becomes a talking point every time he steps on the red carpet.

But the 27-year-old Australian socialite has admitted to having one particular wardrobe regret.

The son of Channel 9 entertainment veteran Richard Wilkins sat down on the I’ve Got News For You podcast to promote his brand ambassadorship with Grey Goose, where he was asked if he ever had a fashion faux pas moment.

“The one that comes to mind most obviously is my very first Arias, it was 2013,” Wilkins recalled. “I just gotten back from Schoolies that day.

“I had pink hair with feathers in it. And I wore this, what someone online described as an ‘acid poo’ coloured suit. And this blue, Hermes belt and these brown shoes.

“Like, ghastly. But I thought that I was poppin’.”

Wilkins, who most recently hit the red carpet at the Babylon premiere in Sydney in a polka dot blazer, added he styles himself for events, so only has himself to blame when it goes wrong.

“I style myself with everything that I do … I love fashion. Part of me kind of hopes I look back at the stuff I’m wearing now and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, that’s awful.’

“Because I just like to have fun with it, and I think sometimes having fun means you make a few mistakes.”

Elsewhere, Wilkins talked about the many A-list celebrities he’s had the chance to meet over the years while travelling with his famous dad.

And his favourite encounter was with US reality star turned billionaire entrepreneur, Kim Kardashian.

“The thing that always kind of strikes me is the people that really are personable and make the effort to kind of get to know everyone. And that was really my takeaway with Kim Kardashian,” he said.

“She went around to every single cameraman, every audio person in the room and introduced herself, and that really stuck with me because like, you don’t need to do that, everyone knows who Kim Kardashian is. But being that person who will be that kind and generous with your time, I really think is important.”

As for weird celebrity encounters, Wilkins told how he once stumbled upon an A-list singer belting out tunes in his family living room.

“I was working at Channel 9 at the time, and I was sick. And I was in my bed having a rest, and I could hear stuff happening outside and I was like, ‘What is going on?’

“I could hear someone singing. And I was like, what? Who was singing? ‘I’m ill, I want everyone out of my house.’

“And it’s Jennifer Hudson, just in my kitchen just like sitting with my dad [singing]. And I was like, ‘Okay’.”
