Cara Delevingne arrived to the Met Gala in a sleek red suit — but ditched the jacket to walk the red carpet entirely topless instead.

Met Gala 2022: Best, worst and wildest outfits on the red carpet

Cara Delevingne has won for most revealing red carpet look of the day.

Fronting up to the Met Gala in a demure red silk military-style suit and handsome Victorian-era walking stick with her hands and feet painted gold, the model had a risque surprise for photographers as she made her way inside.

About halfway down the red carpet, the 29-year-old stripped off her Dior Haute Couture blazer to reveal her bare torso coated with gold body paint, with pasties and gold chains covering her nipples as she posed with her jacket slung casually behind her.

Painted like a human Oscar, Delevingne took the Gilded Glamour theme quite literally, dripping herself in gold contrasting the regal red silk of her outfit.

The actress and model is known for her daring Met Gala looks, but this is definitely her boldest statement yet.

Last year, Delevingne caused a stir in a white ensemble with the words “peg the patriarchy” emblazoned on her top.

While she didn’t explain exactly what it means to “peg” someone (Google it), she told the livestream hosts: “Peg the patriarchy. It’s about women empowerment, gender equality. It’s a bit like, stick it to the man.”

Kim Kardashian went to extreme lengths to fit into one of the world’s most famous and expensive vintage dresses at today’s Met Gala.

She went for classic, old Hollywood glamour - literally - by wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic ‘Happy Birthday, Mr President’ dress.

Originally designed for Monroe by Jean Louis in 1962, it’s considered the world’s most expensive dress, after Ripley’s museum in Florida purchased it for $6.8 million in 2016.

In a newly-published profile on Kim’s Met Gala prep on Vogue, it was reported that she went on a strict diet to be able to fit into the dress, which she’ll wear for just minutes on the red carpet before changing into an exact replica to keep the original safe.

Speaking on the red carpet, Kim said she lost “16 pounds” (7kg) in just three weeks so she’d be able to fit into the dress.
