Kesha makes her post-rehab red carpet debut with a classy new look
THE formerly trashy singer has a sleek and sophisticated new look for her first red carpet appearance since exiting rehab.
IT appears formerly trashy pop starlet Kesha is a changed woman following her recent stint in rehab.
The Die Young singer entered rehab in January to seek treatment for an eating disorder. Her mother, Pebe Sebert, said at the time that pressure to lose weight from those within the music industry had ‘almost killed’ her daughter.
After almost eight weeks in treatment, on March 7 Kesha tweeted her fans: “Happy to be back! Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music. I can’t thank my fans enough for all the love & support u have given me.”
At the same time, the singer started making subtle changes to her trashy, wild child image: the dollar sign in her stage name (‘Ke$ha’) was replaced with a letter ‘S’, and her Twitter handle changed from ‘Keshasuxx’ to a more sedate ‘KeshaRose’.
This past weekend came the biggest change yet, as Kesha made her first red carpet appearance since rehab. While touches of the 27year-old’s former edgy party girl image remain in the form of piercings and green highlights, her floor-length ballgown, luxe jewellery and sleek, tousled bob was a world away from the girl who ‘brushed her teeth with a bottle of Jack’ when she burst onto the scene with debut single Tik Tok in 2009.
It’s certainly a dramatic image overhaul for a woman who’s made frequent appearances on ‘Worst Dressed’ lists in recent years — could this classy new look be a permanent change for Kesha?
