Celebrity style that shocked us: Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Katy Perry’s fashion fails of 2017

SOME of Hollywood’s biggest stars hit new lows with their red carpet looks that raised eyebrows and burned retinas across the world.

Swish Swish singer Katy Perry failed to impress with her Maison Margiela Artisanal frock by John Galliano at the Met Gala — one of the worst looks of 2017.

FROM ill-fitting crop tops and ‘thong’ jeans to latex bodysuits and Spanx-as-pants, celebrity fashion certainly fell to some new lows in 2017.

Even best dressed regulars Rihanna, Kim Kardsahian, Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett made some major sartorial mistakes.

Kardashian, 37, spent much of the year wearing her knickers as actual clothing, teamed with army-print shorts, bandeau bras, and a pair of sheer tights.

Of course, she paired that outfit with a leather blazer and matching strapless bra, see-through Yeezy heels, and a miniature purse, which looked more suited to her four-year-old daughter, North West.

Tights are not pants, Kim Kardashian.

A see-through bodysuit teamed with camoflague shorts and dressy heels? Sure.

Not even Kanye West approved of this look.

No bra, no problem.

The reality star didn’t even bother to put on a bra sometimes, as seen in this suit (above) which featured no top and really put her double-sided “Hollywood tape” to use.

Meanwhile, Rihanna, 29, dominated the year with the launch of her hugely successful Fenty makeup line, and new season collections of her Fenty x Puma sports brand (hello, Rihanna-branded high heeled thongs).

But that didn’t always translate to tasteful red carpet moments for the Work singer.

Fairy floss or Rihanna?

At least the orange crop showed off Rihanna’s tatts.

Confusingly, she teamed this oversized suit with diamonds.

Stars including Rihanna kept wearing these small-lensed sunglasses all year and we just can’t work out why.

Even Jennifer Lopez, 48, and her flawless figure couldn’t manage to be well-dressed.

A standout was this silver halter frock, which seemed to be missing several sections (including the front).

Lady Gaga,31, made an entrance at the Grammys, where she unofficially dressed up as a porn star mixed with Marilyn Manson — in an apparent nod to her performance with Metallica.

The Perfect Illusion singer turned heads wearing, well, not much at all.

She showed off her underboob in a black-on-black ensemble, which included fishnet stockings and thigh-high PVC boots, along with a high-neck jacket with the chest completely cut out.

Her outfit looked like it came from a sex shop.

Nicki Minaj and Kesha were inspired by fairy floss, while Vanessa Hudgens showed us all what happens when you run out of material and have to stitch your stress together with sheer panels.

Katy Perry’s album and tour flopped in 2017, and so did her fashion choice at the Grammys (more on her later).

Metallics and sequins were popular choices this year, but some stars showed that not all that glitters is, well, gold.

She has finished the year on a high with a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the critically-acclaimed movie I, Tonya.

The Met Ball is an event which encourages couture and experimental outfits from guests, who are invited by style maven Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (according to a strict criteria).

Unfortunately, some stars like Katy Perry in a bizarre blood-red veil and dress ensemble just didn’t measure up.

Special mentions for bad fashion in 2017 also go to Paris Jackson who didn’t wear shoes much, and Oscar-winning Thirty Seconds to Mars singer Jared Leto, who took his Gucci obsession to a new high and/or low.

They say save the best ‘til last. And perhaps the worst moment of the year was Demi Lovato, who wore one of the most unflattering outfits ever seen.

The Cool For the Summer singer, 25, looked like a member of B*Witched sporting triple denim.

It was basically denim lingerie — “jeans”, which featured suspender-like denim holsters on the thighs, attached to a demin corset.

After seeing that, we can’t wait for 2018.

Demi Lovato saved the worst outfit until last, posing in triple denim at Y100's Jingle Ball yesterday.
