AFTER years of rumours concerning same-sex affairs, Bobby Brown has confirmed that his late ex-wife Whitney Houston was in a relationship with her female best friend, Robyn Crawford.

Brown makes the claim in his memoir, Every Little Step, which includes explicit stories of sex, drugs and violence involving him and his late ex-wife.

In an interview withUs Magazineto promote the book, Brown confirms the long-rumoured talk that Houston had been involved with her best friend Crawford.

“I know,” he told the magazine when asked about Whitney’s relationship with Robyn. “We were married for 14 years. There are some things we talked about that were personal to us.”

Asked whether Houston was in fact gay, Brown said that “I’m a man and she was attracted to me!”

Houston met her best friend when the pair were teenagers in New Jersey. Rumours that there was more than a friendship between them followed Whitney throughout her career and only grew stronger following her death. In 2013, Oprah Winfrey asked Houston’s mother Cissy if she thought the pair had been in a relationship.

“I don’t really know. I didn’t particularly like her. She spoke disrespectful sometimes. She turned out to be alright, I guess — that was her friend.”

Cissy said she suspected her daughter was “experimenting” with Crawford, and told Oprah it would’ve “absolutely” bothered her had Whitney come out as gay.

“I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney’s life, Whitney would still be alive today,” Brown says now.

“She didn’t have close friends with her anymore.”

Crawford herself has always refused to confirm the talk of the pair’s relationship, even following Houston’s 2012 death by accidental drowning in a hotel bath tub.

“I have never spoken about her until now. And she knew I wouldn’t. She was a loyal friend, and she knew I was never going to be disloyal to her. I was never going to betray her,” she wrote in Esquire following Houston’s death.

“Now I can’t believe that I’m never going to hug her or hear her laughter again. I loved her laughter, and that’s what I miss most, that’s what I miss already.”
