Twist in frightening Taylor Swift ‘stalking’ drama as man charged

The megastar was reportedly in her home when a man was arrested nearby and later charged with stalking offences.

A man has been arrested and charged with harassment and stalking near Taylor Swift’s New York home.

David Crowe, 33, from Seattle, was arrested by police early on Monday after receiving complaints about an “emotionally disturbed male acting erratically” in the area.

He was charged with two counts each of harassment and stalking, New York Police Department said. It came just two days after he was detained while loitering near the same residence, police and law enforcement sources said.

The suspect, who has an unkempt beard and long brown hair, was wandering around the “Shake It Off” singer’s home and inquiring whether Swift lives there, sources told The New York Post.

A member of Swift’s security team notified police officers who were patrolling the area, according to sources and the NYPD.

Officers then witnessed Crowe, 33, allegedly harassing multiple people, police said.

He was arrested and hauled back to the 1st Precinct station in Lower Manhattan where he was charged with two counts each of harassment and stalking, police said.

Crowe did not try to break into her home, but was only lingering outside of it, sources said. He is believed to be emotionally disturbed, sources said.

Footage obtained by The New York Post shows the man cuffed with his hands behind his back next to at least two uniformed officers. Authorities could later be seen attempting to escort him into the back of an NYPD vehicle.

The Cruel Summer singer was in Buffalo for boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL playoff game on Sunday. It is not known if she was back in the city when Crowe was arrested.

The accused was seen around 3pm on Monday near her home before police were called about three hours later, the source added.

When Crowe was originally taken by cops Saturday, it was for failure to answer a court summons from 2015.

A source had previously told Page Six Saturday they witnessed the individual walking around the neighbourhood, specifically where Swift resides, “for a few weeks”.

The Grammy-winning star, sadly, is no stranger getting stalked in NYC. In 2019, a different man, Roger Alvarado, was arrested for trying to break into her Tribeca residence.
