TV host and comedian Bill Maher predicts the future is grim for President Joe Biden as the US presidential election heats up.

Last night on HBO‘s Real Time with Bill Maher, the host predicted the exact date that he believes Joe Biden will drop out of the presidential race.

Maher mentioned several possible replacements for the 81-year-old candidate including Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and Gretchen Whitmer, as he insisted that “Biden is toast.”

He joked that “when” Biden decides to step aside, he will do it on August 9 – the same day that Richard Nixon became the only president to resign in 1974 due to his role in the Watergate scandal.

Bill Maher says that it’s only a matter of time Joe Biden will be replaced as the Democratic candidate for the US presidential election.

“The issue with President Biden isn’t if, it’s who,” said Maher on his show. “Who will replace him? Because he is not going to be the Democrats’ candidate for president in 2024, all due respect.”

The comedian and late-night host says he believes that Biden doesn’t have a chance because the American press and politics are run by “mean girls” who will go to any lengths to destroy a “vulnerable person.”

“Biden is toast. The walls will keep crumbling and my pick in the office pool for when he gives it up is August 9,” Maher said.

“Yes, replacing a president as his party’s candidate this late will seem like a big deal,” he added. “For about three days, and then we’ll all be over it.”

If elected, Harris would become the first female, first black woman, and first Asian to serve as president, but Maher says that doesn’t impact his vote.

“I don’t vote for who will be the first, I vote for who would win and for whatever reason, Harris has never been popular,” Maher said before critiquing her attempt at running for president in 2020.

“You can count the number of delegates she won in the 2020 primaries on one hand, as long as that hand has no fingers.”

“In three years as vice president, she has been quieter than an electric car.”

Maher talked a bit more about his other suggestions for Biden’s replacement, which include some lesser-known governors like Wes Moore (Governor of Maryland), Andy Beshear (former Governor of Kentucky), Josh Shapiro (former Governor of Pennsylvania) Jared Polis (Governor of Colorado) and JB Pritzker (Governor of Illinois).

“No one knows who these people are, and that’s good. We need some new characters on this sitcom we call a country,” Maher said.
