Travis Kelce picks Katy Perry over Taylor Swift in resurfaced interview

Travis Kelce made an awkward Katy Perry admission during a 2016 interview, which has since gone viral on social media.

Travis Kelce has appeared in a resurfaced interview opting to marry Katy Perry over Taylor Swift.

The awkward footage, which was shot in 2016, sees the NFL tight end engaging in a game of Kiss, Marry, Kill on AfterBuzzTV.

Kelce, 34, who has been dating Swift, also 34, since at least September, had to decide between his now-girlfriend, Perry and pop star Ariana Grande.

“That’s messed up, I don’t want to kill any of them,” Kelce said, reluctant to play along.

After some gentle encouragement from the TV reporter, the Chiefs star chooses to “unfortunately” ‘kill’ Grande, before saying, “Taylor Swift would be the ‘kiss’.”

“And then Katy Perry would be the ‘marry’,” he finished.

It comes after Kelce’s whirlwind trip to Sydney, Australia to support Swift for her Eras Tour shows.

The Super Bowl 2024 champion jetted into the city Thursday morning to a rock star reception, with his landing at Sydney airport broadcast live on major news channels.

Kelce was in the VIP section at Accor Stadium for Swift’s opening show Friday, alongside fellow celebs Perry and Rita Ora.

At one stage, Kelce and Perry were seen dancing and laughing along to Look What You Made Me Do.

While Perry and Swift are friends now, the A-list pair did have beef for some time, with Swift’s 2014 song Bad Blood long rumoured to be about their falling out.

But Perry showed past tension was water under the bridge, taking to Instagram with a video of herself reacting to the dis track, in which she pulls a shocked face before mouthing the lyrics, as well as a sweet selfie with Swift.

Meanwhile, Kelce flew out of Sydney on Saturday, getting a private jet to Las Vegas for a reunion party with his Kansas City Chiefs teammates.

During his brief stint here, Kelce joined Swift for a private date at Sydney Zoo on Thursday, and was spotted admiring the views from their $38,000 per night villa at Crown Sydney.
