The judge presiding over the trial of singer Guy Sebastian’s former manager Titus Day has been rushed to hospital with a suspected stroke.

The trial of singer Guy Sebastian’s former manager Titus Day has been put on hold after the judge presiding over the case was rushed to hospital and is currently on life support.

Judge Peter Zahra was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital after suffering a suspected stroke at his Sydney home at about 8am on Thursday, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Mr Day, 50, has pleaded not guilty to 50 counts of fraudulently embezzling royalty, performance and ambassador payments which were allegedly meant to go to Sebastian.

He is accused of masterminding a $900,000 embezzlement scandal between 2013 and 2020.

The trial in the NSW District Court began on Tuesday and was due to resume on Thursday with Sebastian due to return to the witness box.

Sebastian, who is a judge on Channel 7’s hit reality show The Voice, gave evidence on Wednesday when he claimed he discovered the theft when examining bank statements after the pair had a bitter falling out.

It is listed for mention on Monday before Judge James Bennett and a new plan and time frame is expected to be set out.

In an interview in 2010 with the Sydney Morning Herald he admitted to being uneasy about the ceremony he is greeted by each day in the courtroom, The Daily Telegraph reported.

“I don’t know how you would cope with someone, when you walk into the room, saying ‘Silence, all stand’,” Judge Zahra said.

“It’s an odd concept for a human being … I find it really troubling.”
