Singer Grimes shares ‘scary’ news on Instagram

Elon Musk’s SNL debut was last weekend’s hot topic, now his partner Grimes has revealed she was hospitalised just days after the show.

Singer Grimes has shared some “scary” news following her Saturday Night Live appearance alongside her partner Elon Musk.

The musician revealed she suffered a panic attack in the days after making her first appearance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

The 33-year-old shared behind the scenes photographs of herself posing alongside SNL musical guest Miley Cyrus.

Grimes wrote on her Instagram “Forgot to post these cuz somehow caused myself to have a panic attack and went to the hospital yesterday which tbh was quite scary and I suppose it’s a good time to start therapy.” But nonetheless wowwwww @mileycyrus is so good live and so chill!” She continued.

Grimes, who made a cameo in a Super Mario-themed sketch, raved about her husband’s SNL hosting debut.

“So grateful to the SNL team for being so kind and letting me sneak in as princess peach and so proud of my beautiful E (which I know will upset the grimes fans so I apologise in advance) but he killed it,” her Instagram post continued.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, has previously spoken about her battles with mental health. In an interview with Dazed and Confused back in 2012, the singer shared, “Before I made music I had really bad social anxiety disorders, I had panic attacks all the time. I was really not a happy person.”

Grimes has been in a relationship with Elon Musk since 2018. The pair have one son together named X Æ A-12, born in May 2020. Musk made reference to his son’s unusual name during his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live, joking that it’s pronounced like a “cat running across the keyboard”.

During the sketch show, tech entrepreneur Musk also revealed he has Asperger’s syndrome.

The 49-year-old told viewers he was “the first person with Asperger’s” to host the program.

It is the first time the Tesla CEO has spoken publicly about his condition.

He announced, “I don’t always have a lot of intonation or variation in how I speak … which I’m told makes for great comedy. I’m actually making history tonight as the first person with Asperger’s to host SNL.”

Seventeen-year-old Australian hip hop artist The Kid Laroi also appeared on the show, performing his single Without You alongside Miley Cyrus.
