Sharon Stone opens up on horrifying events in her memoir

Sharon Stone has bravely spoken out about suffering nine miscarriages.

The Basic Instinct star, 64, opened up about her experience with losing babies in a heart-rending post on Instagram.

“We, as females don’t have a forum to discuss the profundity of this loss. I lost nine children by miscarriage,” Stone said.

“It is no small thing, physically nor emotionally. Yet we are made to feel it is something to bear alone and secretly with some kind of sense of failure. Instead of receiving the much needed compassion and empathy and healing which we so need.

“Female health and wellness left to the care of the male ideology has become lax at best, ignorant in fact, and violently oppressive in effort.”

Stone has three adopted sons, Roan, 22, Laird, 16, and Quinn, 15.

She was approved to adopt her eldest son while on the way home from having a miscarriage.

Last year Stone spoke of the agony of going through “36 hours of labour” after losing a baby five-and-a-half months into pregnancy.

She told BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour that it was a truly “devastating experience”.

“When I lost my last baby, and then went back to the hospital and had 36 hours of labour on my own to, of course, birth nothing - and the nurses that had been in the hospital with me two days before when they removed the last baby came in and sat with me on their day off.

“I really felt such a strong sense of sisterhood and understanding. Because I would have been alone. And that’s such an alone feeling anyway.”

Stone previously said she had several miscarriages while married to Phil Bronstein, who she divorced in 2004.

In 2021, Stone revealed she lost her nephew River. The 11-month-old was found in his cot with total organ failure.

“River William Stone. Sept 8, 2020 – Aug 30, 2021,” the actress shared on Twitter.

She accompanied the in-memoriam with a one-minute video showing the happy child smiling, laughing and moving about playfully.

Earlier, Stone posted to Instagram that River, who was also the actress’ godson, needed “a miracle” in order to pull through.

“My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib w total organ failure today. Please pray for him. We need a miracle,” she captioned an Instagram post of River in the hospital with devices hooked up to him.

This family tragedy came after Stone lost her grandmother and godmother to coronavirus in 2020, which also affected several other members of her family.
