AUSSIE actress Isla Fisher and her husband Sacha Baron Cohen have opened their hearts — and chequebooks — this holiday season.
The couple, who welcomed their third child in April, donated a whopping $US1 million to Syrian refugees, The New York Post reports.
A lump sum of $US500,000 was given to Save the Children. Their donation will provide measles vaccinations for more than 250,000 kids.
Another lump sum of $US500,000 was given to the International Rescue Committee, that money will offset costs of education, health care, housing and sanitation for women and children.

“By allowing us to make their generous donation to Syrian children public, Sacha and Isla are helping highlight the tragedy of the issue today,” said Justin Forsyth, chief executive of Save the Children.
“These are desperate times for Syrian families facing bombs, bullets and torture in Syria. The couple’s donation will save many thousand of lives and protect some of the most vulnerable children.”
David Miliband, the president and CEO of IRC, echoed many of the same sentiments and praised the couple for their generosity during difficult times.
Milibrand called the financial gift “an example to many others seeking practical ways of making a difference during the Christmas and New Year season.”
Baron Cohen, 44, is known for creating characters including Borat and Ali G, while 39-year-old Fisher has appeared in soap Home and Away and films including Wedding Crashers.
