‘Whine-athon’: US TV host Megyn Kelly slams ‘brat’ Prince Harry

TV firebrand Megyn Kelly has ripped into Prince Harry over the royal’s constant “whining” in his latest interview.

Megyn Kelly Reacts to Prince Harry’s “Whine-athon”

US journalist Megyn Kelly has launched a scathing attack on Prince Harry over the royal’s latest TV interview.

The 38-year-old Duke of Sussex sat down with America’s 60 Minutes ahead of the release of his memoir Spare on January 10.

During his interview, which is set to air on Sunday, Harry told CNN anchor Anderson Cooper that negative stories about him and his wife Meghan Markle were supposedly planted by communication teams working for senior members of the Royal Family.

“Every single time I have tried to do it privately, there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife,” Harry said.

“The family motto is ‘never complain, never explain’. But it’s just a motto. It doesn’t really hold. There’s endless [complaining and explaining] through leaks.

“They will feed or have a conversation with the correspondent and that correspondent will be spoon fed information and write the story.

“Then at the bottom of it they will say that they have reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. But the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting.

“So when we are being told for the last six years we can’t put a statement out to protect you, but you do it for the rest of the family, there becomes a point when silence is betrayal.”

During her podcast The Megyn Kelly Show, the former Fox News presenter reacted to Harry’s constant “whining” about privacy in his interviews.

“The privacy complaint against them [Harry and Meghan] is that they ostensibly wanted a more private life,” Kelly said.

“They wanted to be left alone and then they never stopped giving interviews, ever!

“They gave them to everyone so Anderson teased it up like ‘why not just handle this privately?’ and then of course Harry’s like, because I’m surrounded by evil villains who leaked everything I said.”

The Sky News Australia contributor then argued that the Sussexes could have still remained close to the institution by following in the footsteps of other members of the family who do not hold official roles.

“There was obviously a way for them to leave their royal roles and stay in England and continue serving the people of England,” she said.

“There are plenty of royals who are not working royals. They chose to leave in a huff because they wanted the attention, because they are brats, because they wanted $100 million from Netflix and telling their story.

“That’s actually what happened here. It’s not about, ‘oh, we tried to resolve it privately but we couldn’t so we had no choice but to bring these matters out’.

“Bulls**t – they wanted the money. They were filming that Netflix thing for months, well before Megxit, so the whole thing is based on a lie. And now we all just help him continue with his whine-a-ton.”

Earlier in the segment, the broadcaster mocked the Prince as he was finally given the opportunity to tell his story as a working royal.

“Let’s shift gears to somebody who isn’t a victim but thinks he is and that is Prince Harry who is finally going to tell his story,” she said.

“Finally, he is going to come out with it in his autobiography after the gazillion interviews he and his wife have given about their poor lives.

“Their castle is too small, I don’t know if you heard. I heard it’s too small, he was treated so poorly that he had to duck when he went through the doorways.

“It’s so hard when your castle is too tiny. He’s given two interviews now which are being previewed.”

Harry has done a series of publicity-boosting interviews since he quit life as a working royal.

He reportedly had been in talks with several major US networks about further TV talks.

Last year, he and Meghan sat down with chat show host Oprah Winfrey in an explosive tell-all.

Then a month later Prince Harry spoke on US network NBC, when he claimed he wanted to ensure the “right people” were around the Queen to “protect” her.

Last month, his Netflix documentary aired. The Duke accused his father King Charles of lying during crisis Megxit talks as the late Queen Elizabeth II sat and listened.

Harry also alleged his brother William “screamed and shouted” at him at the Sandringham Summit after he revealed they wanted to quit the firm.
