Sky News host Rita Panahi tears into Meghan Markle

An Australian TV presenter has launched a scathing attack on Meghan Markle after she “mocked” having to curtsy to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Sky News host Rita Panahi ripped into the Duchess of Sussex over her comments in her six-part Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan.
The former Suits actress spoke about her first meeting with Her Majesty at the Royal Lodge in 2016, shortly after she and Prince Harry started dating. She compared the encounter to “medieval times”.
The royal then bowed low to demonstrate her first curtsy to the beloved former monarch, before straightening back up with a small giggle. Harry, meanwhile, looked a bit embarrassed.
Panahi took to Facebook, where she slammed Meghan’s re-enactment and Harry’s reaction to his wife’s demonstration.
“What a pitiful milquetoast he is,” the broadcaster wrote.
“Sitting there and grinning like an idiot as she mocks his grandmother, country and its traditions.”

In another post, Panahi wrote on Twitter: “He’ll come to regret abandoning his family, country & duty.”
The Herald Sun columnist blasted Meghan in a second tweet, writing: “Woman who was obsessed with Princess Di & royals (according to her childhood friends) shocked that meeting the Queen is a big deal & you have to curtsy. Cool story, bro.”
Panahi has been a frequent critic of the Sussexes.
Earlier this month, the commentator said Harry wants all the privilege with “none of the duty”.
“He is the one who abandoned his family, they are his blood and he has walked away from them and I think he has to bear ultimate responsibility,” she told the Outsiders, available to stream on Flash.
“He was born into this life of privilege and supposed duty and he wants all of the privilege and none of the duty.”
Meghan’s curtsy story has caused an uproar online, with commentators slamming her for appearing to mock the institution of the monarchy.
One critic tweeted: “Meghan Markle mocking the monarch with that supposed curtsy. How utterly disrespectful of the British people and their traditions.”
Another seethed: “Meghan Markle mocks the respect of a curtsy for a beloved Queen. Mocks the traditions of the monarchy & the UK. And finds herself adorable while doing it.”
A third fumed: “The worst part is Meghan mocking having to curtsy to the Queen and that stupid mocking voice she uses after … Most people will be offended by her mockery of an old, beloved woman.”
However, one user defended Meghan and said that the scene was hilarious.
One commenter said: “The curtsy part was so funny to me. Watching Meghan do that deep bow and Harry’s face.”
