The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, isn’t holding any grudges against King Charles and the royal family for not inviting her to the coronation next month.

The 63-year-old was snubbed from attending the big event on May 6, despite still living with her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

But she has said “you can’t have it both ways” referring to her divorce from the Duke of York and that she’d likely take the late Queen’s corgis - which she adopted - to an old folks home to watch the bash from there.

While promoting her novel A Most Intriguing Lady on the UK TV program Loose Women she addressed the apparent cold shoulder, saying she will watch the jamboree with the corgis, Muick and Fergus, reports the New York Post.

“I personally will be having a little tea and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting.

“That’s what I’m going to be doing. Because that would make me very happy,” the author went on, adding that she’s more than content to watch it on television because “you hear a lot on the telly”.

Fergie then admitted that she likes the royal commentators and loves to listen to their observations during the event.

‘You can’t have it both ways’

However, she said she understood that because she is divorced from the Duke of York, 63, she never “expected” to receive an invite.

“You can’t have it both ways, you can’t be divorced and then say, ‘I want this … ‘ [You’re in] or you’re out,” the mother of two noted.

“I think it’s really great to be supportive big time.”

The duchess stated that she plans to take the dogs, some sandwiches and the bunting to an elderly people’s home in her “little van” on the day.

Despite the Young Victoria producer not going to the big bash, she will be reuniting with members of the royal family for a private party later in the evening, a source told Hello! magazine.

While Ferguson won’t be at the coronation, her daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie will be attending alongside Andrew.

The Yorks were married in 1986 but parted ways in 1992. They officially divorced in 1996 and Fergie’s position within the family became contentious following a bout of royal scandals.

Another source told news websiteThe Independentearlier this week that the duchess wants the coronation day to be all about the king and his wife, Camilla.

“She has been hugely supportive of Charles and Camilla and does not want this to become about her,” a friend close to Fergie said.

Sarah Ferguson now cares for the late Queen’s beloved corgis.

They explained: “The whole day is about the new king and the success of his reign but she has always championed the royal family and the queen undoubtedly would have wanted her to be there.”

The news of Ferguson’s coronation invitation rebuff came just a day after it was announced that Prince Harry will be travelling to the United Kingdom for the crowning without wife Meghan Markle.

The former actor, 41, will be staying home in Montecito, California, with her children Lilibet and Archie — as it is the latter’s fourth birthday on May 6.
