Meghan Markle may be about to launch her own podcast on music streaming service Spotify, according to insiders.

Amid the rumours, some have speculated the former royal would use the podcast as a platform for her political activism.

Spotify is soon going to make an offer to the royals, said to be in the millions, according to The Mirror.

Any deal with the streaming service would see Meghan Markle produce content exclusively for them.

“Of course, money is no object. Meghan Markle will be more or less able to name her price for exclusively working with them on a podcast series,” an insider told The Mirror.

“The Duke and Duchess have been on their hit list for a while and a detailed proposal is set to be presented to Meghan’s US agent in a matter of weeks.”

When she and her husband Prince Harry split from the royal family in March, they vowed to become financially independent. This could be just one avenue they use to achieve that goal.

It has caused many to speculate what the podcast would be about, if Meghan were to accept the deal.

Meghan has become increasingly vocal politically of late.

She spoke with feminist Gloria Steinem about the importance of voting in a televised interview last week

Earlier this month, she was featured in the US marie claire magazine, talking about the power of voting.

“I know what it’s like to have a voice, and also what it’s like to feel voiceless,” she said.

She also served as a moderator as part of an online conference for the buzzy new news site focused on gender and politics called The 19th.

And she was featured as part of All Women Vote, a voter participation initiative founded by former first lady Michelle Obama.

The Telegraph reported the Duke of Sussex will not “contribute publicly” to his wife’s political activism “out of respect for his family’s position on the global stage”.

Spotify representatives have declined to confirm nor deny the rumours.
