Why Eugenie’s wedding will be bigger than Meghan’s
DESPITE her minor role in the royal family, Princess Eugenie’s wedding will be bigger than Harry and Meghan’s — and there’s one reason why.
PRINCESS Eugenie’s wedding is set to be the biggest event ever hosted at Windsor Castle despite her minor role in the royal family.
New details have emerged about the 28-year-old’s nuptials next month, with Vanity Fair reporting her guest list will be longer than Harry and Meghan Markle’s and include more celebrities.
Eugenie and her fiance Jack Brooksbank have reportedly sent out 850 invitations to their October nuptials; a staggering 250 more than the 600 that were invited to Harry’s May wedding.

Her wedding will also up the stakes in the celebrity department, with Robbie Williams’ daughter Theodora Rose expected to be a bridesmaid and Ellie Goulding singing on the night of the wedding.
The choice of a big wedding is a surprising one given the fact she plays no formal role in the royal family.
But according to Vanity Fair, the extravagant wedding plans — which include a carriage ride around Windsor like Harry and Meghan — are the brainchild of Eugenie’s parents, the Duke and Duchess of York.
While divorced since 1996, Sarah Ferguson, who is affectionately known as “Fergie”, and Prince Andrew remain close and both have grand designs about their daughter’s big day.
“Andrew and Sarah have been very involved with the planning, and they both want this to be a full-scale royal wedding,” a source told the magazine.
“They were very keen for Eugenie and Jack to have a carriage procession. Poor Eugenie has been having last-minute jitters about whether people will turn out, and what the weather is going to do.”
According to figures from the Daily Mail , Eugenie and Jack’s October 12 wedding could cost $4.75 million which is significantly less than the reported $45 million spent on Harry and Meghan’s affair.
Eugenie is expected to spend $365,000 on a wedding dress (tipped to be Stella McCartney), $5000 on hair and makeup, $182,000 in floral arrangements and $153,000 on alcohol for the event.
