Royal wedding: Celebrities turn on glamour for evening reception
AFTER throwing off their royal wedding attire, A-listers donned some seriously impressive outfits for the exclusive reception.
ROYAL wedding guests have revealed their stunning outfits worn to the lavish reception at historic Frogmore House.
After throwing off their fascinators and wedding attire, A-listers donned some seriously impressive after-party outfits at the exclusive 200-person event.
A hefty £300,000 (AUD $538,000) was believed to have been splashed on a huge glass marquee for the celebrations, where guests began to arrive at about 7pm.
Take a look at what several of the elite pulled out of their wardrobe for part two of the day’s celebrations.

SERENA WILLIAMS
Before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot, tennis champion Serena Williams showed off a stunning pink Versace ensemble, complemented by gold accessories. And she didn’t drop her game in part two either, when she revealed she’d be sporting a Valentino gown, floral skirt, and bold Bulgari necklace to the newlyweds’ post-wedding celebrations, while her husband, Alexis Ohanian, wore a Tom Ford tux.
PRIYANKA CHOPRA
One of Meghan Markel’s closest friends, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra had one of the most epic outfit swaps. As she strolled in hand with US actress Abigail Spencer to St George’s Chapel, she was snapped wearing a chic lavender suit and fascinator by Vivienne Westwood. But before heading to the reception, she traded it for a jaw-dropping, gold Dior gown with a serious sparkle.
JESSICA MULRONEY
Jessica Mulroney, another of Meghan Markle’s best pals, arrived wearing a custom-designed, royal blue dress crafted by a Montreal-based designer, Antoinette Di Carlo. It’s unknown who was behind her dazzling reception outfit, but with the glittering gold sequins, it could’ve given Prinyanka Chopra’s outfit a run for its money.
The wedding’s impressive celebrity guest list included the likes of David and Victoria Beckham, Tom Hardy, Oprah, as well as George Clooney and his wife Amal.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the well-heeled attendees. Oprah had a fashion debacle which she described as “dress-gate” just one day before the royal couple tied the knot.
The much-loved talk show host revealed on Instagram her original dress was too white for a wedding. But British designer Stella McCartney came to the rescue.
“Thank you @stellamccartney! Realised Friday morning the beige dress I was planning to wear to Royal ceremony would photograph too ‘white’ for a wedding,” wrote Winfrey on the post.
We had dress-gate! Wrong colour! Now we got the right colour! I think we’re going to do alright. To the whole Stella McCartney team, amen, amen, amen.”
Security guards stopped and quizzed Clooney as he sat in the back of a silver Audi before allowing him to enter the stunning after-party venue.
But it’s believed the guards were keen to have a yarn with the star about his impressive film credentials, rather than deeming him a security risk.
