Royal snub or Royal Mail? Elton John hasn’t had a royal wedding invite

HE WAS Diana’s great friend and attended William and Kate’s nuptials in 2011. But while Harry and Meghan’s wedding invites have gone out, Elton John’s seems to be lost in the post.

INVITATIONS have gone out for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, but Elton John’s invite must be lost in the Royal Mail.

“We haven’t had an invitation yet,” the singer told BBC2 radio on Thursday morning.

But in case he and husband David Furnish want to crash the May 19 wedding, the journey wouldn’t be too taxing.

“It’s rolling distance,” he said of his proximity to St George’s Chapel at London’s Windsor Castle where Harry and Markle will tie the knot.

John, who just celebrated his 71st birthday, was a friend of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. He attended the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William in 2011 and also performed his rewritten song Candle In The Wind (Goodbye England’s Rose) at Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.

As for performing at Prince Harry’s big day, the I’m Still Standing singer joked that he’d be right on stage with royals of British music.

“And Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar,” he quipped. “I mean the Spice Girls, no one’s going to beat them off the stage, are they? They’re just huge.”

However rumours of the iconic girl group singing at the wedding were debunked when a source told Page Six last month: “They’re all attending but they won’t be performing.”
