Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new home revealed

THEY’VE been making do with a modest cottage on the palace grounds, but after they tie the knot Harry and Meghan are tipped to move into much fancier digs.

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle have been tipped to move into swish new digs at Kensington Palace after they marry this month.

Renovations are currently under way on Apartment 1, next door to where his brother Prince William, his wife Kate and three children live in Apartment 1A.

A source told MailOnline that Harry has been seen regularly inspecting the renovations — which have been shrouded in a white tarpaulin — and seemed to be in “a real hurry to move in”.

Harry and Meghan are currently making do with a more modest home — the two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage.

The smaller property, which Harry has lived in since 2013, is also where Kate and William resided prior to starting a family.

It’s believed Apartment 1 has been recently vacated by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who are cousins of Queen Elizabeth and previously offered to give up the stately space.

Despite being referred to as an apartment, the property is anything but compact and has 21 stately rooms.

Apartment 1 also has adjoining doors with Apartment 1A, meaning the royal siblings can enjoy easy visits with each other.

The public’s view into Apartment 1 was obscured earlier this year when fir trees were planted blocking sight of the home from the street.

Harry and Meghan will wed on May 19 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in front of 600 guests.

Meghan’s father Thomas Markle will walk her down the aisle, while William will act as Harry’s best man.
