Meghan Markle’s father will attend royal wedding despite brother’s claims in letter
AFTER a scathing attack from her brother, it’s now being reported that Meghan Markle’s reclusive father will attend the royal wedding.
MEGHAN Markle’s father Thomas will attend the royal wedding, despite a scathing letter from her half-brother claiming their dad wasn’t invited.
According to People, both Thomas Markle and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland will be in attendance, although it’s unclear what role — if any — they will play in her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19.
Thomas, an Emmy-winning lighting director, and Doria, a yoga instructor, were married for nine years before splitting in 1988.
Thomas now leads a low key existence in Mexico, while Doria is based in Los Angeles and is believed to have met Harry several times.
Earlier this week Meghan’s older half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. wrote a scathing open letter, claiming the Suits star hadn’t invited their father to her wedding and was a “jaded, shallow, conceited woman”.
Published by In Touch, Markle Jr.’s handwritten note warns Prince Harry not to marry Meghan, 36, calling it “the biggest mistake in royal wedding history”.
“Her own father didn’t get an invite, whom should be walking her down the aisle,” Markle Jr., 51, wrote.
Meghan and Harry will marry at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel, with around 600 people invited to the service.
The couple’s guest list is expected to include celebrities such as David and Victoria Beckham, Priyanka Chopra and Meghan’s Suits co-stars.
A total of 2640 members of the public have also been invited, including 1200 people who have shown leadership in their local communities.
Harry’s best man will be his older brother Prince William.
