ON his way into St George’s Chapel, David Beckham stopped to pose for a happy snap with a young fan who had also been invited to the royal wedding.
But Amelia Thompson wasn’t there for her royal connections or her celebrity status.
The 12-year-old was among 1200 members of the public invited to enjoy the wedding from inside the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The wedding was the first crowded public event that the Manchester bombing survivor had attended since the horrific attack a year ago.

Amelia was one of 14,000 fans attending an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena when a terrorist detonated a home-made suicide bomb, killing 22 people.
The Sheffield girl, who had been in line of sight of the blast, was carried out of the building by the bomb squad.

Her mother, Lisa Newton, nominated her to receive one of the special wedding invitations.
Instead of asking her mum, the selfless Amelia invited Sharon Goodman, who lost her granddaughter Olivia Campbell-Hardy in the bombing.
Amelia said she made the gesture “just to put a smile on her face”.
A year on from the horrific attack, Amelia is still receiving counselling. She has also undergone speech therapy for her vocal chords, which were damaged by her screaming.
Although she been feeling daunted by being in a big crowd, Amelia enjoyed her day at the wedding.
And for the 12-year-old, the big highlight was nothing to do with the royals — it was meeting her hero David Beckham.
