‘Fergie’ the Duchess of York reportedly snubbed from royal wedding event
SARAH Ferguson scored an invite to the royal wedding but hasn’t been invited to a private party after the ceremony.
WITH a royal wedding comes some royal snubs.
The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, is reportedly very unhappy. While she has been invited to the May 19 ceremony between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and the reception immediately afterwards, she has not been given an invitation to an intimate evening ceremony being thrown by Prince Charles that takes place after the wedding and reception.
Affectionately known as “Fergie”, she was married to Prince Andrew until their divorce in 1996, and is mother to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie who are eighth and ninth in line to the throne respectively.
According to Daily Mail, the 58-year-old is not among the 250 people who made the guest list, with many wondering if Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for someone who is not technically a member of the royal family anymore.
To add insult to injury, her ex-husband Prince Andrew — who she remains close with — and their daughters, are on the guest list for the ceremony, reception and after-party. It seems like, at some point in the day, the Duchess of York will have to split from her family and leave the celebrations alone.
The Duchess, who has reportedly already been introduced to Meghan by Prince Harry, has allegedly been complaining in private circles about her snub, but so far the guest list has not expanded to 251 to accommodate her.
