Did Meghan Markle forget to curtsy to the queen? Twitter is demanding answers
ROYALISTS lost their mind after viewers failed to see Meghan Markle curtsy to the Queen. But there’s more to the story.
WHEN Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot at Windsor Castle yesterday, it was a decidedly more casual affair than previous royal weddings.
Gospel singers performing “Stand by Me” in the church and the omission of the word “obey” in the vows were just a couple of examples of the young couple breaking with tradition.
But some Twitter users felt the new Duchess of Sussex had taken the modern approach too far by failing to curtsy to the Queen as she left the church.
According to the BBC, the royal rules state anyone that meets the Queen needs to bow their head, curtsy or do a combo of both.
Fans took to Twitter to express their disbelief at the apparent slight.
omg that moment when meghan markle didnt curtsy to queen elizabeth after being married to prince harry :-) awkward. #RoyalWedding

Could someone please tell me why she did not curtsy to the Queen? Is this a new protocol? Because she is American? Because she forgot? What?

Meghan - did you forget to curtsy to Her Majesty? I will have to lie down for months if you did forget. #royalwedding

However it seems that Markle didn’t actually flout royal protocol.
It was just some dodgy editing of the video footage from the chapel.
According to Time, at the exact moment when she performed the gesture, cameras panned to a wide shot, so viewers missed it.
Here is the bow/curtsy, which you can barely see because some genius decided on a wide shot. #royalwedding pic.twitter.com/tBszb91Whn

Meghan isn’t opposed to bending the knee to Her Majesty.
She executed the move like a pro at the Christmas Day church service in 2017:

Apparently the Duchess of Cambridge almost forgot the curtsy on her own wedding day, but saved it at the last minute.
It wasn’t the only “gaffe” the new Duchess of Sussex was accused of on her big day with Prince Harry.
Eagle-eyed viewers claimed Ms Markle dropped the F-bomb as the carriage was making its way back through the gates at Windsor Castle.
Though others believe she was simply saying “wow”.
“Wow” or “f**k” ... you be the judge!
