Royal meets reality: Pippa Middleton’s future brother-in-law has ‘slept with 1000 women’
AND you thought Prince Harry was the royal bad boy. Meet Pippa Middleton’s future brother-in-law, Spencer Matthews, who claims to have slept with over 1000 women.
AND you thought Prince Harry was the royal bad boy.
He’s dashing, charming and has a thing for “petite brunettes” — meet Pippa Middleton’s future brother-in-law, Spencer Matthews.
The former Made In Chelsea playboy was open about his reputation as a prolific ladies’ man, telling me about his preference for “petite brunettes” and lapping up the attention he got from women — even when he had a girlfriend — during an interview with News Corp Australia.
But how will this charismatic playboy fit in with the royal family?
Pippa Middleton, 32, is engaged to Spencer’s brother, James Matthews, 40, a multi-millionaire hedge-fund manager and one of the British social scene’s most eligible bachelors.
Spencer — nicknamed “Spenny” — opened up about fame, partying and women (actually, a lot about women).
He definitely has a type. “Petite brunettes tend to be the way forward for me,” Spencer told me in 2013, while on a club tour of Australia. “They usually catch my fancy.”
He is still friends with his ex-girlfriends, despite the repeated cheating scandals. “If you were once in love with someone, I’m sure you can work out a friendship,” he said. “I’m friends with all of my exes.”
He is definitely a party boy. “We’re not shy of a party,” Spencer said. “Drinks tend to help, we’re just pretty full on by nature, kind of take it as it comes sort of thing.”
Dating him means having to deal with attention from other women. “I think anyone who goes out with us needs to understand our line of work does involve receiving a bit of attention,” he said. “I think it depends on who you’re with, most people kind of get that.”
He insists he’s not a bad boy. “My mother would be extremely disappointed if I was considered to be a bad boy,” he said.
His life changed dramatically since reality TV. “I went from being a foreign exchange broker in the city to being on reality television,” Spencer said.
But his personality has not changed. “(Fame) hasn’t changed me as a person, I still have all the same friends and do the same thing.”
Pippa and James’s wedding is already being billed as “2017’s most anticipated society wedding”, according to the Daily Mail, after James popped the question this week with a diamond ring worth nearly $350,000.
And with Spencer a frontrunner for a role in his brother’s bridal party, the nuptials will be anything but dull.
WHO IS SPENCER MATTHEWS?
HE admitted to sleeping with 1000 women and has an “unhealthy appetite for sex”.
His exploits with partying, women and cheating scandals have been documented in Made In Chelsea, a UK reality series about rich socialites living in west London (he has since left the show and is reportedly working on his own TV series).
Spencer confessed to sleeping with more than 1000 women in his memoir, Confessions of a Chelsea Boy.
“I don’t disclose how many women I’ve slept with in the book because I think that should be private,” Matthews said, according to The Huffington Post.
“Let’s just say it’s a similar number to Kirk Norcross in his book, which was a thousand.”
Spencer insists he is not “a sex addict”. He has been involved with a string of women, including his former Made In Chelsea co-stars Louise Thompson, Stephanie Pratt, Lucy Watson and Lauren Hutton, Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattison and is currently dating French beauty Morgane Robert.
“I just have an unhealthy appetite for sex,” he told The Sun, according to New York magazine.
The former banker-turned-reality-star was last year outed for steroid use, which forced him to leave the UK series of I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here.
Speaking about the controversy in March, Spencer told BBC Radio One: “I wasn’t thinking properly and made a mistake. I took some pills to enhance my training”.
