The Queen has finally broken her silence more than 24 hours after Harry and Meghan’s explosive Oprah interview went to air.
After a conspicuous delay, the Queen has finally issued a startlingly brief statement in response to Harry and Meghan’s shocking Oprah interview.
The interview, which aired in Australia on Monday night, included a staggering list of alarming claims by the Duke of Duchess of Sussex that threaten to become the biggest scandal to rock the royal family in decades.
Some of the most explosive claims include Meghan’s declining mental health and the palace’s refusal to help, allegations that concerns were raised about baby Archie’s skin colour by a family member, and the decision to deny Archie the title of prince – and the security and protection that comes with it.

Now, more than 24 hours after the two-hour interview want to air, Buckingham Palace has
released a brief statement from the Queen addressing Harry and Meghan’s interview.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the statement, which was released early Wednesday morning Australia time, reads.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

The statement comes after it was widely reported that the royals had to rework their response to the interview after the Queen refused to sign off on it.
According to The Times, the Queen would not give her approval to a prepared statement focusing on the family’s love and concern for the couple, instead wanting more time to consider what her response should be.
The interview has sent shockwaves through the royal family, with inside sources describing a sense of “intense personal shock and sadness” within the family, with the Palace said to be paralysed with “horror and dismay”.
Prince Charles is also reportedly “in a state of despair” following the bombshell revelations from Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview, in which he was accused of refusing to answer his son’s calls.
“Harry was emailing his father to justify why he and Meghan had done the interview,” royal author and Vanity Fair correspondent Katie Nicholl wrote.
“Charles was said to be ‘in a state of despair’ according to a friend.”
“For Prince Harry to say that he felt let down by his father must have been a difficult thing to say and hard for Charles to hear,” royal author Sarah Gristwood also told the outlet.
