Spruiking the COVID-19 vaccine alongside health professionals in a video released by Buckingham Palace, the 94-year-old monarch honoured the Duke of Edinburgh, who was taken to hospital over a week ago, as she wore a sentimental brooch which she first wore in her official 1947 engagement photos.

She has donned the classic Diamond Clematis Brooch several times over the years, which features six diamond petals.

It’s understood she was gifted it by household staff for her 21st birthday, just a few months before her engagement to the Duke.

It comes as Philip is still recovering in a London hospital after being admitted 10 days ago with an infection.

The Queen and Philip received their COVID vaccines in early January, as the monarch urged Britons to get the jab during the video call remarking it “didn’t hurt at all”.

She was joined by people overseeing the rollout, including Dr Emily Lawson, chief commercial officer of NHS England and Derek Grieve, of the Scottish Government’s vaccinations division.

“Once you’ve had the vaccine you have a feeling of, you know, you’re protected, which is I think very important,” the Queen said.

“And the other thing is that it is obviously difficult for people if they’ve never had a vaccine or they’ve had to um, but they ought to think about other people rather than themselves.”

A source revealed the Queen was “distraught” over Philip’s health condition, as well as Harry and Meghan’s official resignation from royal life.

During England’s current coronavirus lockdown, he and the Queen had been staying at Windsor Castle, west of London.

“It’s been a rough few weeks for the Queen, that’s for sure,” a royal source told Us Weekly on Wednesday.

“The situation with Harry and Meghan has been challenging, and on top of that, she’s distraught over her beloved husband’s health setback.

“The Queen has had some tearful moments mixed with anger and disappointment,” another palace insider claimed. “Emotions are definitely running high.”
