Queen attends royal double christening amid health fears
The Queen has made a surprise appearance at the christening of her great-grandkids, despite reports she wouldn’t be attending amid health fears.
The Queen has attended the christening of two of her great-grandchildren after laying low with a back sprain.
The monarch was determined to attended the joint ceremony for the firstborn sons of Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall.
She told courtiers she was set on witnessing the baptism for Zara and Mike Tindall’s son, Lucas Phillip, and Eugenie’s son August at All Saints Chapel in Great Windsor Park, Berkshire.
And she decided she would be there in person after taking advice from her personal doctor.
Dressed in green, the Queen was pictured leaving the ceremony after only recently resuming public engagements.
She has been recovering from a sprained back that forced her to miss last week’s Remembrance Sunday service.
She was recently advised to step back from official duties by medics after an overnight stay in hospital.
But the Queen was back to her normal duties when she met with General Sir Nick Carter, the Chief of the Defence Staff, at Windsor Castle last week.
And the injury didn’t stop her taking part in the private family service for the two royal babies.
Princess Eugenie was spotted on her way in wearing a classy beige headband that matched her outfit.
