Prince William voiced ‘concerns’ over Harry’s relationship with Meghan, documentary claims
Prince Harry and William’s falling out reportedly occurred when the younger royal took well-intended comments about Meghan as criticism.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal romance captured the hearts of the nation when the couple tied the knot in a breathtaking Windsor ceremony in May 2018.
According to The Sun, while we were all caught up in the romance of Harry and Meghan’s Royal Wedding, one expert has claimed that Prince William was growing increasingly concerned for his brother ahead of the big day.
Appearing on Britain’s Channel 5 documentary Princesses At War, royal author Katie Nicholl said: “William was quite concerned that the relationship had moved so quickly.”
Before announcing their engagement in November 2017, Prince Harry had been reportedly been dating the former Suits actress for just over a year.
Describing how Prince William is “probably the only person close enough” to Prince Harry to voice his concerns, Katie claimed he told his brother: “This seems to be moving quickly, are you sure?”
However, the royal expert continued: “What was meant as well-intended brotherly advice just riled Harry.
“Harry is hugely protective of Meghan, he saw that as criticism, he interpreted that as his brother not really being behind this marriage.”
The author concluded: “I don’t think things have been quite right ever since.”
Last year, The Sun exclusively revealed that Prince Harry went “mental” accusing Prince William of “trying to wreck his relationship” with Meghan Markle after he voiced concerns about her.
Lady Colin Campbell — a controversial Royal commentator who has written three Princess Diana biographies — also appeared on the documentary to give her insight.
She added: “Everything I hear is that Harry is completely beguiled by Meghan and completely enthralled to her.”
Based on her insider knowledge, Lady Colin Campbell also claimed that Prince Harry had “changed considerably” since distancing himself from his brother and marrying Meghan Markle.
