The Cambridge kids have been photographed arriving for their first day at their new school.

Future king Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, were pictured hand-in-hand with their parents Prince William and Kate Middleton for their orientation day at the elite Lambrook School in Berkshire, west London.

The milestone also marked Louis’ first day at school after graduating from nursery school.

The royal trio were dressed in smart, navy and white uniforms for the big day, while William, 40, wore a blue suit and Kate, also 40, donned a collared brown polka-dot dress.

The family-of-five recently made the move from London’s Kensington Palace to Windsor, where the children have been enrolled at the $12,000-a-term school near Ascot, a short nine-minute drive from their new home at Adelaide Cottage.

George, Charlotte and Louis were welcomed by headmaster Jonathan Perry at the front gate, The Sun reports.

Asked if they were excited for their first day, they all replied an excitable, “Yes.”

William was heard saying, “They’re looking forward to it. They have lots of questions.”

The siblings were then shown to their classrooms to meet their teachers and classmates, while William and Kate chatted to fellow parents.

George and Charlotte previously attended Thomas’ School in Battersea, south London, while four-year-old Louis went to Willcocks Nursery in South Kensington, west London. This is the first time they’ll all be at the one school.

Their new school, set in the Berkshire countryside and fit with a nine-hole golf course, will set the royals back $91,600 per year, without boarding.

Lambrook is a co-ed preparatory education facility which allows part-time boarding, scoring “excellent” in its most recent Independent Schools Inspectorate.

As well as the traditional subjects, it offers pupils the chance to try out everything from scuba diving to podcast making.

Chess, lifesaving, tap dance, beekeeping and songwriting are also on offer at the “thriving” independent school, which is home to 620 students.

It’s understood the Cambridge family relocated to Windsor to be closer to the Queen, who is spending more time at Windsor Castle instead of Buckingham Palace.

A source told royal author Omid Scobie that the couple’s decision was also to give their kids “as normal a life as possible”.

“They thought about moving to [their home in] Norfolk, but as active senior working royals they could never be that far away from London, so that’s where Windsor came into the picture,” a source told Scobie for Yahoo.
