Prince William and Kate Middleton attend Queen’s carols with children amid royal bombshells
Prince William was forced to attend a royal event just hours after Harry’s bombshell claims about him – where he made poignant speech.
A defiant Prince William and Kate Middleton put on a united front with their children today just hours after Harry and Meghan dropped the final three episodes of their tell-all Netflix series.
Wearing matching burgundy outfits, the Prince and Princess of Wales were all smiles alongside Charlotte and George and the King and Queen Consort Camilla – despite the Sussexes making several fiery accusations against them.
In episodes four, five and six of documentary Harry & Meghan, the couple accused Charles of lying during crisis Megxit talks.
Harry, 38, also alleged his brother “screamed and shouted” at him at the Sandringham Summit after he revealed they wanted to quit the Firm.

He even said a joint statement was put out without his permission in his and his brother’s name on the same day denying a story that William had bullied him out of the royal family.
Harry branded the move a “lie to protect my brother” and added: “There was no other option at this point. I said ‘We need to get out of here’.”
But Princess Kate appeared to push aside the family drama for a “business as usual” royal engagement overnight.
She attended the “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey alongside Will, Charles and Camilla.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, with husbands Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, were also in attendance, as well as Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Mike and Zara Tindall, and singer Craig David.
Spearheaded by Kate and supported by The Royal Foundation, this year’s event was dedicated to the late Queen and the values she demonstrated throughout her life, including duty and empathy.
During the festive concert, William read out the Queen’s speech from Christmas 2012 about unity and “togetherness”.
“At Christmas I am always struck by how the spirit of togetherness lies also at the heart of the Christmas story,” he read.
“A young mother and a dutiful father with their baby were joined by poor shepherds and visitors from afar.
“They came with their gifts to worship the Christ child. From that day on he has inspired people to commit themselves to the best interests of others.
“This is the time of year when we remember that God sent his only son ‘to serve, not to be served’. He restored love and service to the centre of our lives in the person of Jesus Christ.
“It is my prayer this Christmas Day that his example and teaching will continue to bring people together to give the best of themselves in the service of others.
“The carol, ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’, ends by asking a question of all of us who know the Christmas story, of how God gave himself to us in humble service: ‘What can I give him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb; if I were a wise man, I would do my part’.
“The carol gives the answer, ‘Yet what I can I give him – give my heart’.”
King Charles was earlier pictured grinning ear-to-ear at Buckingham Palace as he presented letters, shook hands and chatted with visitors.
The 74-year-old monarch, dressed for the chilly weather in a navy pin-stripped suit and black coat, was then captured laughing with a cup of tea in hand as he met volunteers at London’s Community Kitchen.
The second half of Harry and Meghan’s doco was released at 7pm on Thursday, and made a number of massive claims – including that a Palace aide called Meghan a “foreign organism”.
Then, in episode five, as the prince discussed how their future in the Firm was decided once they announced they wanted to step back, Harry said: “It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and have my father say things that simply weren’t true, and my grandmother quietly sit there and sort of take it all in.”
Meghan, 41, claims she wasn’t invited to the Sandringham summit in January 2020, despite the outcome directly impacting her.
The former actress said: “Imagine a conversation, a roundtable discussion about the future of your life when the stakes were this high and you as the mum and the wife and the target in many regards aren’t invited to have a seat.”
Other revelations included Harry saying he told his father that he and Meghan were willing to relinquish their Sussex titles if a move to Canada did not work out.
And he described how “people” were upset that Meghan was “stealing the limelight” or doing the job better than the person who is born to do this”.
But, such claims appeared to have no impact on senior royals and the King – who has now been head of state for 100 days.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams recently predicted this would be how they would react – with a “business as usual” approach despite “dynamite” being thrown at them.
Harry and Meghan also claimed in their bombshell series that they almost left the family twice before Megxit – but leaked information stopped them.
The couple said their plans to skip the country were twice foiled after someone within the family fed their plans to the press.
The Duchess even suggested it was her father-in-law – the now King.
She said: “His dad said ‘just put it in writing’ and just five days later it’s there in the newspaper.”
Harry added: “It became clear that the institution had leaked the fact that we were going to Canada.
“The key piece of that story that told me the letter I had written to my father had been leaked was that we were willing to relinquish our Sussex titles I was like wow – our story, our life, you’ve taken it from underneath us.”
Despite the bombshell claims, Harry indicated he did miss some parts of royal life.
In the last five minutes of the final episode while discussing why he moved to California he admitted he “misses the UK and weird family gatherings”.
