How do you use social media like a normal person when you’re a world-famous royal? Easy – you just need an alias to hide behind.

Prince Harry: 6 surprising facts we bet you didn’t know

Just call him Spike.

Prince Harry has always bucked the rules — including the royal social media rules.

Back in the day when he was still dating Chelsy Davy, Harry is said to have secretly created a Facebook account under the alter ego “Spike Wells” — a reference to Harry’s one-time nickname Spike.

The now-deleted account, according to the Mirror, had over 400 friends “including some of the UK’s wealthiest and most glamorous socialites” and listed interest as “all sports.”

The account, which was active from 2008 to 2012 listed Wells’ hometown as Maun, Botswana — a favourite of Harry’s — and featured photos of Prince Harry and his then girlfriend, Davy as well as one of “three young men in matching Panama hats, one of whom bore an uncanny resemblance to Harry,” the Mirror noted.

Other profile photos included a red-headed child holding his head, captioned: “Oh my God, I’m ginger.”

Speaking of royal aliases: Royal family fanatics were left scratching their heads when baby Archie’s birth certificate was finally made public back in April.

Among the revelations in the document, registered by Prince Harry, were Meghan’s real name, Rachel, her job description, “Princess of the United Kingdom”, and where Archie was born, the $US25,000 a night Portland Hospital in Westminster, England.

Fans were confused. Most thought Meghan’s title — bestowed upon her by the Queen when she married Harry — was Duchess and some were not aware of her birth name, which is Rachel Meghan Markle.

The couple have been notoriously tight-lipped about where Archie was born.

As for her title, “while she was given the title the Duchess of Sussex by the Queen on her wedding day, she is also technically a princess, just not in her own name”, the Mirror noted.

“She is Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales through her husband, Harry.”
