Princess Diana’s death and its impact on her son Prince Harry is an ongoing theme in his memoir, and at the tail-end of the book, he reveals speaking to his late mother through a “woman with powers”.

The 38-year-old Duke of Sussex, whose book Spare is out on January 10 (January 11 in Australia) but has since been leaked in Spain, recalls the incredible moment he knew his late mother was really in the room during the session.

Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997 when Harry was 12, told her son through the unnamed medium, “You’re living the life she couldn’t. You’re living the life she wanted for you.”

Harry, dubious of “humbuggery” when he first sat down with the woman, writes he immediately felt an “energy around her” that brought him to tears.

And the epiphany came when the woman relayed a private moment between Harry, his wife Meghan Markle and their then-toddler Archie that convinced him his late mother was following him in the afterlife.

The woman said Diana was conveying a story about an “ornament”.

Earlier in the book, Harry tells of how Archie accidentally broke a Christmas tree ornament of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

“Your mother says … something about a Christmas ornament? Of a mother? Or a grandmother? It fell? Broke?” the woman apparently told Harry. She added: “She [Diana] was there.”

Harry said to her, “Archie tried to fix it.” The woman responded, “Your mother says she had a bit of a giggle about that.”

The woman, Harry writes, told him his mother was with him “right now” during the reading.

He further explains how Diana expressed she was aware he was “looking for clarity”, and that “so many questions” he had would make sense in time.

Details around the session are kept vague, with Harry omitting when or where it happened.

Elsewhere, he reveals he was driven through the Paris tunnel – Alma underpass – where Diana was killed, in a bid to get clarity on her death at the age of 36.

He also requested that the driver hit 65 miles (104km) per hour – the same speed Diana’s chauffeur was driving prior to the crash.

Harry writes how no-one should die in the “no-frills tunnel”, adding he “barely felt anything” while passing through a “bump” at speed.

“The bump that supposedly sent Mummy’s Mercedes veering off course,” he writes.

“I’d always imagined the tunnel as some treacherous passageway, inherently dangerous, but it was just a short, simple, no-frills tunnel.”

After driving through the tunnel three times, Harry writes he didn’t receive the “closure” he was searching for.

Spare officially hits stands on January 10, though many stories from it are already being splashed across news sites following multiple leaks.

Among the most damning claims include Harry’s retelling of a physical fight with his brother Prince William in 2019, losing his virginity to an older woman when he was 17, and killing a total of 25 people while serving in Afghanistan.

It comes after it was revealed millions had been spent on stopping any leaks of Harry’s book before its release, in security measures as intense as those previously used for Harry Potter book releases.
