Prince Harry took it badly when his brother asked ‘are you sure Meghan is the right one?’
An explosive new book reveals the royal family’s concerns about Meghan and explains the reasons behind the falling out between Prince Harry and Prince William.
Kate Middleton pulled Prince Harry aside and warned him against rushing into marrying US actress Meghan Markle, an explosive new book claims.
In Royals At War, published on Kindle, investigative journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett claim that Kate urged Prince Harry to take things slowly, because it would take “time, care and attention” for Meghan to fit in with the family.
The Duke of Sussex, 35, who married the former American actress, 38, in May 2018, enjoyed a close relationship with the Duchess of Cambridge who he referred to as “the big sister I never had”.
But his relationship with Kate and his brother Prince William remains fractured, after he relocated to LA with his wife and their son, Archie, amid an apparent feud with his brother and rumours that Kate and Meghan did not get on.
Prince William apparently had concerns over Prince Harry’s romance with Meghan Markle and took his brother aside to ask “Is she the right one?” shortly after meeting her, according to insiders.
The journalists wrote that the attempted brotherly intervention didn’t go down well with the Duke of Sussex who took it as a deliberate slight.
The book also claims that part of the reason for the rift between the brothers was Prince Harry’s lavish spending in the wake of his wedding.
He reportedly forked out more than $A11,000 within months for acupuncture “as part of a health drive” and enjoyed a “babymoon” with the Duchess of Sussex at Heckfield Place, a luxury spa in Hampshire – the three-night stay is said to have cost up to $A60,000.
The book also claims that Meghan “embarrassed” Prince Harry by announcing that she was pregnant on Princess Eugenie’s wedding day.
The Duchess of Sussex allegedly told the Royal Family that she was pregnant with the pair’s first child at the nuptials in October 2018.
The Duke of Sussex was reportedly left reeling when his wife made the announcement at Princess Eugenie’s Windsor wedding to Jack Brooksbank on October 12.
In their book, Tillett and Howard claimed Eugenie and her mother Sarah Ferguson were “furious” at Meghan’s decision.
“Meghan put her foot in it when she decided that it would be the ideal moment to announce that she and Harry were expecting their first child,” the pair wrote.
“This was a huge social gaffe, even if you were not a royal – stealing the limelight from Eugenie, who was furious, as was her mother, Sarah.”

HARRY ‘TORTURED’ AS ROYALS FIGHT ONLINE HATE
Prince Harry is said to be “secretly tortured” over his decision to leave the royal family, it has been claimed.
The Sun claims the Duke of Sussex is struggling with his new life in Los Angeles after quitting the royal family with wife Meghan Markle.
It comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been “working” with the “Stop Hate for Profit Campaign” behind the scenes, as part of the fight against online hate speech and trolls.
People magazine reports that the royals have joined a push from business leaders around the world to withdraw advertising from Facebook, after the social media giant was accused of spreading misinformation.
“As we’ve been developing Archewell, one of the areas The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been keen to address is online hate speech, and we’ve been working with civil rights and racial justice groups on it,” a source close to Meghan and Harry told People.
“Over the past few weeks, in particular, this issue has become even more vital and they have been working to encourage global CEOs to stand in solidarity with a coalition of civil and racial justice groups like the NAACP, Color of Change, and the Anti-Defamation League, which are calling for structural changes to our online world,” the source adds.
Meantime, in explosive new book Royals At War: The Inside Story of Harry and Meghan’s Shocking Split With the House of Windsor, authors Andy Tillett and Dylan Howard claimed that Prince Harry, 35, was finding it hard to adjust to life in Los Angeles.
It was claimed that the situation was made worse when Prince Charles, 71, tested positive for coronavirus. A source claimed: “On top of it all, he’s got cabin fever”.
“It was far from an ideal situation. Harry’s gone from feeling excited about the move to feeling secretly tortured.”
Prince Harry is also reportedly missing his family – with it “hit(ting) home for him that Charles and the Queen aren’t going to be around forever” – while he is in lockdown at Tyler Perry’s$A30 million mansion.
But an insider said that Meghan, 38, is doing her best to support her husband in their new life.
They said: “She’s assuring [Harry] that once things go back to normal, he’ll love their new life in LA.
“Meghan wants to take him hiking and talks about the local polo club and how much he’ll love surfing.”
It comes after it was revealed the couple could make millions after reports they had signed with the same speaking agency as the Obamas.
According to reports, the couple have joined the Harry Walker Agency – which also counts the Obamas, Clintons, Serena and Venus Williams, and TV legend Oprah Winfrey as clients – in their first career move since moving to Hollywood.
And a former friend told Royals At War: “Meghan has always been fascinated with the creation of a ‘brand’.
“I do not believe she married Harry with that solely in mind, but it was a determining factor.”
Meanwhile it was revealed that James Bond bosses want Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the Hollywood premiere of the new 007 movie — setting up a potential clash with Prince William and Kate.
Producers of No Time To Die want Daniel Craig’s last outing as Bond to be a US hit.
Their top priority is getting Prince Harry and Meghan at the Los Angeles screening in November.
