Prince Harry, Meghan Markle make surprise appearance in Las Vegas
The royal couple have quashed a persistent rumour about their A-list circle after an unexpected date night outing in Sin City over the weekend.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a surprise appearance at one of Katy Perry’s final shows in Las Vegas.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, both dressed in black, took in the Teenage Dream star’s performance from the VIP section at the Resorts World Theatre on Saturday night alongside other celebrities including Perry’s husband, actor Orlando Bloom and singer Celine Dion.
It’s understood the couple arrived with Meghan’s friend, fashion designer Misha Nonoo, and her husband, oil tycoon Mikey Hess.
In pictures taken by fellow punters on the night, the duchess was seen dancing and smiling along to Perry’s biggest hits while Harry appeared much more subdued, mirroring their appearance at a Beyonce concert in September.
The royals’ appearance at Perry’s show alongside Bloom certainly helps put to bed persistent reports that the relationship between the high-profile neighbours has turned frosty in recent months.
Their double-date future was off to a shaky start after Perry – who is married to Orlando Bloom and lives in the same gated community in Montecito as Harry and Meghan – made headlines back in 2018 with her subtle criticism of the former Suits star’s Givenchy wedding dress.
Harry, meanwhile, had previously spoken of his friendship with actor Bloom (“he’s just down the road and we sort of keep in contact” he told the Armchair Expert podcast in 2021) but it was reported that the pair were no longer as friendly due to Perry’s decision to headline King Charles’ coronation concert in May.
Harry and Meghan’s Vegas night out comes just days after they were spotted trick-or-treating in their neighbourhood with their kids, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet 4, during Halloween celebrations.
Last month, the pair was also snapped on a child-free getaway to a luxury island in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Canouan – a tiny, secluded patch of land measuring only 5.6km by 2km – has been described as the place “where billionaires go to escape millionaires” and has previously hosted high-profile guests including George and Amal Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Robert Downey Jr.
According to a fellow holiday-maker, the “affectionate” couple held hands as they walked along the paved promenade next to the marina, and “looked happy to be having a holiday together.”
