Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s share PDAs at the Invictus Games amid split rumours
Amid frenzied speculation about the state of their marriage, Harry and Meghan have hit back in their own way during the Invictus Games.
After months of frenzied speculation about the state of their marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have enjoyed a PDA-filled day at the Invictus Games in Germany.
The Duke of Sussex, 38, was pictured cuddling his wife, 42, as they watched the wheelchair volleyball competition on Thursday, while she beamed lovingly back at him.
In another highly-affectionate moment, Meghan returned serve, wrapping her arms around Harry as fans snapped photos.
Since the Duchess of Sussex’s arrival at the Games, four days after it began, the pair have put on a united front, holding hands walking between events and smiling as they mingled with competitors and their friends and family.
Whether deliberately or not, the Sussex’s flurry of PDAs clearly serves as a rebuttal to the recent, widespread speculation of trouble in paradise.
Earlier this week, Meghan made a quick entry into Dusseldorf, transitioning from her flight to her first official Invictus event – a Family and Friends reception – within hours.
According to fellow guests, the former Suits actress kicked off her brief, “off the cuff” speech at the event with an apology, explaining she had needed to get their two young children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, “settled” at home in the US before departing.
“Hi everybody. It is so special to be here and I’m sorry I’m a little late to the party,” she told the guests.
“Like so many of you, you know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created and Fisher House has created, and so I had to spend a little bit more time getting the little ones settled at home.
“Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you.”
Harry and Meghan’s loved-up week at the Games comes amid swirling reports around the state of the Sussex’s marriage, with the parents-of-two having been embroiled by rumours they’ve been taking a “break”.
The couple was spotted in a box at Beyonce’s Los Angeles concert earlier this month, with commentators pointing out how Harry appeared “sour” while Meghan danced the night away.
The couple has been dogged by claims that their marriage is in trouble recently, amid a string of commercial blows to their post-royal empire.
Harry and Meghan have been seen together only a handful of times this year, with just one official joint appearance prior to the Invictus Games.
The couple themselves have not made any comment on the state of their relationship and when last publicly referencing it – in their Harry & Meghan docu-series and Harry’s memoir, Spare – appeared to be very much in love.
