Prince Andrew gave fans bizarre advice to beat the cold during the royal family’s annual Christmas walkabout in Sandringham.

The Duke of York, 62, surprised crowds with his attendance during the public outing, which saw the British royals mingle with well wishers following the early Christmas Day church service, The Sun reports.

And one video shows Andrew stop and ask a woman standing with her dog, “Cold feet?”.

She responded, “Freezing”, to which the disgraced royal replied, “Did you know the trick is to bring a newspaper? Stand on a newspaper and you insulate your feet.”

Prince Andrew's bizarre encounter with a royal watcher at Sandringham has emerged.

The stunned dog owner said “thank you” before the Queen’s son walked away with his hands in his pockets.

A local onlooker, 34, who filmed the peculiar interaction told The Sun: “The whole thing was really odd.

“Andrew stopped in front of us and blurted out the most bizarre advice about keeping warm.

“I don’t imagine the woman will be testing his theory anytime soon.”

Andrew is no longer a working royal after having his patronages and military titles stripped by the late Queen earlier this year following a sexual abuse lawsuit brought against him by Virgina Giuffre. Andrew has since privately settled the case.

The clip was filmed as the royals walked back from their first Christmas service since the death of the Queen in September.

King Charles, 74, and Queen Consort Camilla, 75, were joined by William and Kate, both 40, and their children, George, nine, Charlotte, seven and Louis, four.

Another moment from the walkabout has also made headlines, where young Louis could be seen chasing after his sister and handing her a bouquet of flowers.

The crowd could be heard saying, ‘Awww!’ in vision that captured the sweet gesture.
