Pippa Middleton honeymoons in Sydney with husband James Matthews

PIPPA Middleton and her new hubby James Matthews had a busy day on Sydney Harbour as part of their honeymoon.

UNFAZED by the autumn chill, glowing newlywed Pippa Middleton enjoyed a big day out honeymooning in Sydney yesterday.

With new husband, financier James Matthews, in tow, the Duchess of Cambridge’s high-profile little sister had made a low-key arrival on a flight from New Zealand before checking into a penthouse suite at the exclusive Park Hyatt on Tuesday night.

The loved-up couple are staying in an $18,000-a-night penthouse at the five-star luxury hotel on the Harbour, which comes complete with a 24-hour butler plus a sauna and steam room.

They began the Aussie sojourn of their travels yesterday morning with a 5km dawn run around the Harbour. One guest said she was surprised to see Ms Middleton, 33, who famously almost stole the spotlight at her sister Kate’s wedding to Prince William with her figure-hugging bridesmaid’s dress, wandering around the hotel in a vest after her workout.

“I had to do a double take when she popped her head into the breakfast room briefly to take a peek. She had been running and was in a vest. Her arms are incredibly muscley. The pair of them are so bloody fit,” the guest said.

Staff were also happy to lend a few tourist tips.

“The manager welcomed them and told them to wrap up at night if they go for a walk as the city gets cold at dark,” a hotel insider said.

“They chatted about Vivid and ordered breakfast to their room and left shortly afterwards for lunch saying they were catching up with close friends.” Clad in a thigh-length, $800 striped Kate Spade frock, wedges and just a small black jacket to keep her warm, hardy Pippa and her former racing car driver hubby, elegantly turned out in jeans, loafers. sweater, quilted jacket and a white shirt, jumped in a water taxi with two friends and their baby about 10.30am.

The friends are understood to be among their nearest and dearest, but were unable to make it back to Britain for the lavish wedding just over a week ago.

So the lovebirds decided to treat them to a lunch adventure via seaplane, at stunning Cottage Point Inn on the Hawkesbury River in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

After soaking up the city sights from the Harbour, then chugging along to Rose Bay past some of the country’s most exclusive addresses, the group disembarked at Sydney Seaplanes and enjoyed a drink at the cafe on the water, before setting out on their 20-minute flight. The cheery sister-in-law of the second in line to the British throne, smiled and waved to wellwishers as she settled in for a cuppa.

It was an understated arrival at Cottage Point Inn too, the couple having made reservations under a fake name, surprising staff who ushered them to a private table at the back of the restaurant,

“We were surprised to see them turn up, they were very quiet and low key,” owner Ally Olesen said. “They were mesmerised by the kookaburras and fed them from the table.

“They were very pleasant and they just wanted some private time with their friends.”

Ms Middleton is believed to have enjoyed kangaroo tartare followed by mackerel, while her beau opted for a duck main. The fitness-focused couple didn’t touch alcohol and resisted the tempting dessert menu.

After arriving back at Rose Bay just before 4pm, they got straight into a waiting water taxi and sped to the Harbour Bridge, where they enjoyed a sunset climb, before resting up for dinner at an undisclosed exclusive eatery.

Pippa even found time for a caviar facial at the hotel’s spa, which is said to hydrate and smooth out fine wrinkles and costs up to $400 for a 90-minute treatment.
