Piers Morgan rants Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will “hijack” Jubilee celebrations
Piers Morgan has blasted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over their upcoming Jubilee visit, claiming the couple will “hijack” the four-day celebration.
Piers Morgan has blasted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over their upcoming Queen’s Platinum Jubilee visit.
During the latest episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, available to stream on Flash, the Sky News host said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would “hijack” the four-day celebration and make the event “all about them”.
The broadcaster said Queen Elizabeth “represents the very best of British values”.
“Unfortunately, jetting in next week are a royal couple who represent the complete opposite,” he continued.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the southern English county that I come from, incidentally, where they’ve spent precisely three hours, are a pair of undignified, whiney, hypocritical virtue-signalling, selfish wastrels.
“The privacy demanding, poverty preaching carbon-conscious couple will fly 5,000 miles, spewing 1.5 metric tons of CO2 emissions from their $11 million mansion in California, accompanied of course by the Netflix documentary camera crew recording their every move, Kardashian-style, reality show.”

While the pair are banned from the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations on June 2, it’s reported they will join the Queen at the service in St Paul’s Cathedral the next day.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter said he is most concerned that the duo will “make the jubilee all about themselves”.
“I’m already shuddering at how this fame-hungry duo will hijack the headlines from the woman who should be given them purely to cement their rival royal brand,” he said.
“The only place I want to see them beside the Queen in public is in Madame Tussauds.
Morgan went on to say that he’s bemused the two were travelling to the UK despite the fact Meghan’s father Thomas is in hospital after suffering a stroke.
“Meghan and Harry love to preach about compassion, yet they show none of it to their own families,” he continued.
“If they had an ounce of real compassion they’d cancel their trip to the jubilee and visit Thomas Markle in hospital.
“But that would mean missing the chance to further exploit their royal status for big dollars – and that ain’t going to happen.”
Harry and Meghan say they will return to England with their children next month for the four-day party marking the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
The 96-year-old monarch controversially ordered that only working royals could appear on the balcony – ruling out the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
A palace spokesman said: “After careful consideration, the Queen has decided this year’s traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday 2nd June will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen.”
The symbolic move is likely to be interpreted as a snub to Harry and Meghan, who quit the monarchy for a new life in the US in 2020.
The decision would also rule out Prince Andrew who was forced to step back as a working royal after becoming embroiled in a civil lawsuit brought by Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking victim Virginia Giuffre who accused him of sexually abusing her when she was 17.
