Back in June, the Queen filmed a hilarious video with the fictional character for her Platinum Jubilee celebration.
The two shared tea at Buckingham Palace and bonded over their love for marmalade sandwiches.
In the cheeky clip, the Peruvian bear hoped that the Queen was “having a lovely Jubilee” before she offered him some tea.
He then offered her a marmalade sandwich, which was hidden underneath his hat – before she leant into her own black handbag.
The monarch joked that she too saved marmalade sandwiches in her bag “for later” – delighting viewers at home.
Paddington – voiced by actor Ben Whishaw – congratulated and thanked the Queen for her 70 years of service at the end of the clip.
The sequence ended with Her Majesty and Paddington tapping a spoon to the beat of Queen’s We Will Rock You, which kickstarted the celebrations.
Paddington Bear author Michael Bond’s daughter Karen Jankel told the PA news agency: “It really, really was such an honour”.
Ms Jankel said her father would have loved the sketch, especially the marmalade sandwich part.
“I think he would have absolutely loved it. But with everything to do with Paddington, my father would have felt that the honour was for Paddington,” she said.
