Meghan’s wedding planning left ‘emotional’ Kate in tears

More details have surfaced about “Melissa”, the mysterious PA who suddenly quit working for Meghan Markle just months after the Royal Wedding.

Meghan v Kate: Royal drama escalates

More details have emerged about Meghan’s closest aide, who sensationally quit just six months after the royal wedding, and has only been known as “Melissa” before now.

The Duchess of Sussex’s PA left the glamorous role suddenly in a “shock” move having previously happily worked as Robbie Williams’ personal assistant, according to The Daily Mail.

The paper names the aide as Melissa Touabti, 39, and said she played a “pivotal role in the success of the royal wedding”, reports The Sun.

A source told The Sun: “Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?

“Robbie Williams is a lively character, but she worked for him longer than she worked for Meghan.”

A Kensington Palace spokesman had declined to comment when the story first broke earlier this month but a Palace source did pay tribute to Melissa in a highly unusual move.

The source added that the PA “will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household”.

Robbie, 44, and his wife Ayda Field, 39, were part of the A-list guest list at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding earlier this year.

Their six-year-old daughter Theodora was a flower girl at the ceremony and Robbie leapt up on stage to perform at the royal bash.

It comes as rumours about a growing rift between Meghan and Kate are gaining steam after it was claimed the Duchess of Cambridge was “left in tears” during planning for the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding.

According to the Daily Mail, Kate was reportedly “emotional” after Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress fitting ahead of Meghan and Harry’s wedding, sources say.

Kate, 36, — who had just given birth to Prince Louis at the time — was said to be “feeling quite emotional”, a source told The Sun.

Tensions between Meghan and Kate are rumoured to be the cause of a growing rift between Princes Harry and William.

Last week it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move out of Kensington Palace where they are neighbours of William’s and Kate’s and move 50 kilometres away to Windsor.

A friend close to the couple has claimed that the decision to move may be because a rift is developing between the two couples because “Kate and Meghan are very different people”.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the source added: “They don’t really get on.”

Kensington Palace confirmed that Harry and Meghan were moving out, but a spokeswoman explained that this was to facilitate preparations for having a baby.

They added that Windsor is a special place for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who also formed a part of the decision to make the move.

But a royal source told The Sun: “The initial plan was for Harry and Meghan to move out of their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and into one of the main apartments.

“But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers.”

The Sun reported the Queen warned Prince Harry over Meghan Markle’s behaviour and attitude before their wedding.

Meghan initially wanted a tiara that featured emeralds, according to royal sources.

But the future Duke and Duchess of Sussex were unhappy when told her first choice was impossible, as no one knew exactly where it came from.

A new book by reporter Robert Jobson reveals Harry told staff before the wedding: “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”
