Meghan Markle’s future sister-in-law Darlene Blount arrested for assaulting Meghan’s brother Thomas Markle Jr
MEGHAN Markle’s future sister-in-law has been arrested for assaulting her fiance in a drunken fight a year after he pointed a gun at her.
MEGHAN Markle’s future sister-in-law stares teary-eyed in a mugshot — after being suspected of hitting her fiance in a boozy fight.
The Sun reports that Darlene Blount, 37, was arrested at the home she shares with Markle’s half-brother Tom Markle Jnr, who allegedly held a gun to her head in a separate drink-fuelled row.
She then spent nearly a day and a half in a jail cell after her late-night arrest for fourth- degree assault — which means injuring someone else.
A source in the couple’s hometown of Grants Pass, Oregon, US, said last night: “Word travels fast in a small town and everyone knows everyone.
“It’s hard to know just what happened, but it was a drunken altercation with cops called.
“Darlene has her problems. Tom’s her meal ticket but is a big guy, so that could be scary. They’re two sick people feeding off each other.”
Last January The Sun told how window-fitter Tom Markle vowed to mend his ways after being held for allegedly holding a gun to her head in another drunken row. She declined to press charges.
The source added: “He’s a loose cannon. It puts Meghan’s family in a bad light again.
“The last time he said he would get help. Everyone hopes they both do so now.”
The latest bust-up saw cops called to their home at 11.38pm on New Year’s Eve.
She was booked into a jail at 4.20am on New Year’s Day. She was later freed without charge after midday on January 2 — more than 32 hours later.
Sarah Stewart, of the local Department of Public Safety, confirmed: “Darlene Blount was arrested for an Assault Four. A report was referred to the District Attorney’s Office.”
District Attorney Matt Corey admitted getting it but said: “We declined to issue charges.”
Last year Tom Markle likened his gaffes to Prince Harry’s — and hoped for a invite to the royal wedding in May.
He said: “Everyone makes mistakes. Prince Harry made a few and learned from them.
“I just need the same chance. I want to go to the wedding — if they’ll let me.”
An invite is unlikely as the half-siblings are thought to be completely estranged.
