Meghan Markle pictured in rare outing with Princess Lilibet, 2

The Duchess of Sussex was spotted with her rarely-seen youngest child taking part in the Fourth of July celebrations in America.

New footage has emerged of Meghan Markle with her rarely-seen daughter, Princess Lilibet, during the Fourth of July celebrations in the US.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, appeared crouched down and waving flags alongside her two-year-old in the background of a video shared by the Rosewood Miramar Beach hotel which promoted their annual event.

Prince Harry and Meghan are understood to be friends with Rick Caruso, the owner of the five-star hotel, which is located in their suburb of Montecito.

The businessman has previously revealed to Vanity Fair how the couple met with him back in May 2020.

‘I was just very impressed by both of them. They’re surprisingly down-to-earth. We talked about their charity work and the work that my company does.

“We just shared a lot of things that we’d like to do to make people’s lives better. We’re very lucky to have them.’

The new clip of Meghan and Lilibet comes after pictures were released last week of Harry holding his daughter at the same event, watching on as the colourful Fourth of July parade rolled past.

It was an extremely rare sighting of Lilibet, who has barely been seen since her birth in June 2021.

Unlike her four-year-old brother Archie, who was born in the UK, she has spent her entire life so far in California, heading back to her father’s home country only once – for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last year.

Lilibet appeared in the family’s Christmas card in 2021, and had an official portrait released in honour of her first birthday in June 2022.

She also made a few brief appearances in private photos and footage which was shared by Harry and Meghan for their Netflix docu-series late last year.

In March, Harry and Meghan confirmed that their youngest child had been christened as “Princess Lilibet Diana” in Montecito, on the coast north of Los Angeles, in a statement which marked the first time she had been referred to with the title.

A spokesman for the royal pair confirmed to People magazine that the ceremony took place earlier that month.

“Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor,” a statement said.

The magazine was told that the ceremony was an “intimate gathering” of around 20-30 guests, including Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Lilibet’s godfather, actor and entrepreneur Tyler Perry.

Notably missing were Lilibet’s grandfather, King Charles, and other members of Harry’s family – despite reportedly receiving invitations.
